About the job
- Degree-qualified in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills.
- Good working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D computer-aided design software.
- Ability to sketch and communicate concepts effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Comfortable working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Develop innovative product concepts from client briefs.
- Create and refine designs using 3D computer-aided design software.
- Produce and evaluate physical prototypes using in-house prototyping equipment.
- Support projects from concept through to final production.
- Work directly with suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable and commercially viable.
- Research new materials, finishes, and production techniques.
- Present ideas and design solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Utilise artificial intelligence-assisted tools to support concept development and visualisation.
- Experience with 3D rendering software.
- Knowledge of 3D printing and prototyping techniques.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacture principles.
- Exposure to artificial intelligence design tools and visualisation software.
- Industry placement or commercial product design experience.
