About the job

Requirements
  • Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience, including direct responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis; experience in a small or midsize B2B SaaS company is preferred, as is experience with enterprise sales cycles or meaningful implementation and delivery costs.
  • Experience working on lean teams and owning work from gathering inputs and building models through presenting findings and following up with business owners and executives.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills; experience building integrated three-statement and driver-based models; and strong accounting fundamentals.
  • Understanding of SaaS revenue mechanics and metrics, including annual recurring revenue, retention, bookings, revenue recognition, and gross margin.
  • Experience developing business intelligence dashboards and reconciling financial and operational datasets.
  • Ability to build planning models, reporting, or processes from scratch and translate incomplete information into clearly documented assumptions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly while preserving accuracy, checking work, and making uncertainty visible.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence questioning assumptions constructively with technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and executing the annual corporate budget, partnering with department leaders on revenue, headcount, infrastructure, and operating expenses.
  • Update and maintain monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts using integrated three-statement models covering the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Build driver-based forecasts connecting sales pipeline, contract start dates, implementation schedules, renewals, and expansion to financial performance.
  • Perform scenario analysis and financial modeling to stress-test growth assumptions, including delayed awards, longer sales cycles, customer concentration, and accelerated hiring.
  • Maintain visibility into bookings, annual recurring revenue, recognized revenue, billings, and cash collections, distinguishing recurring software revenue from implementation and services.
  • Partner with Sales and customer teams to forecast renewals, expansion, churn, and pipeline conversion, and explain changes in revenue performance and forecast confidence.
  • Incorporate government contract funding, periods of performance, option-year assumptions, award timing, and invoicing milestones into forecasts.
  • Distinguish funded commitments from potential contract value and model the cash and resource implications of procurement or payment delays.
  • Support contract and deal reviews with pricing, margin, payment-term, and delivery-cost analysis.
  • Conduct monthly actual-versus-budget and actual-versus-forecast variance analysis, explain underlying drivers, and identify actions for business owners.
  • Review general ledger details to identify misclassifications or unexpected spending trends, partnering with Accounting to resolve discrepancies.
  • Track corporate cash burn, working capital metrics, and primary efficiency ratios on an appropriate daily or weekly cadence.
  • Maintain workforce models covering approved positions, hiring dates, compensation, benefits, contractors, and vacancies, partnering with Recruiting and department leaders to keep assumptions current.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reviews explaining performance, forecast changes, and emerging risks in clear business terms.
  • Build, update, and maintain business intelligence dashboards tracking financial and operational key performance indicators.
  • Provide data-driven schedules, trend charts, and commentary for monthly business review decks and support board reporting.
  • Clean and structure historical operational datasets to improve forecasting precision.
  • Support development projects, return-on-investment analyses, pricing reviews, and unit economics updates, including product investments and expansion opportunities.
  • Identify and implement ways to automate manual data collection workflows and recurring reporting.
  • Help build the FP&A function’s core models, planning calendar, reporting standards, and tools, introducing useful structure as business needs evolve.
Desired Qualifications
  • SQL and workflow automation skills.
  • Exposure to government-facing software businesses, federal procurement cycles, or contract-level financial analysis.
  • Experience forecasting cloud or AI infrastructure costs, deployment economics, or customer-level profitability.

About the company

Rhombus Power builds AI systems for defense and national security. Rhombus Power partners with SCSP's AI+ Expo. PR Newswire ARLINGTON, Va., April 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - The Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP), a non-partisan, non-profit project dedicated to strengthening America's long-term competitiveness in artificial intelligence (AI), announced the return of Rhombus Power as a sponsor for their third AI+ Expo, scheduled for May 7-9, 2026 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. "We are thrilled to welcome Rhombus Power back as a partner for the 2026 AI+ Expo. As we move deeper into this decisive decade, the ability to transform massive datasets into actionable decision advantage is a national security mandate," said Ylli Bajraktari, president of SCSP. "Rhombus Power's continued support of the Expo underscores our shared commitment to accelerating the deployment of AI across the defense and national security landscape." Rhombus Power turns data into decision advantage, delivering predictive intelligence for defense and national security. Its integrated commercial data platform fuses multi-domain data with advanced AI to uncover actionable foresight at speed and scale. "The United States and our allies are no longer debating whether AI will shape national security advantage, but how quickly it can be operationalized. Speed matters. Adoption and deployment are decisive. Urgency is redefining a contest of perception, influence, and decision-making at scale at the dawn of the age of cognitive warfare. SCSP is focusing the best minds on this moment, convening leaders and ideas to ensure the U.S. and its closest partners shape the future, rather than react to it," said Anshu Roy, Founder and CEO of Rhombus Power. The three-day AI+ Expo is free to attend and aims to educate the public on AI and other emerging technologies shaping the modern world. Last year's event featured 36 sponsors, 176 exhibitors, over 500 speakers, and drew more than 15,000 attendees from 84 countries. With the show floor almost sold out, this year's Expo is expected to draw even greater participation. Register here to attend. Sponsorship for 2026 is now closed! To join the Sponsorship Waitlist for 2027 please email Hina Gir at [email protected]. To register or learn more about exhibitor opportunities, visit https://expo.scsp.ai.
