Unison Investment Management delivers efficient and scalable investment opportunities into the largest asset class in the world: owner-occupied residential real estate. The equity in owner-occupied residential real estate represents a $21T asset that is nearly absent from institutional investor’s portfolios. This untapped asset class presents a unique opportunity to develop a new market that is also a core asset. Unison is the leader and pioneer in this space and our vertically integrated investment and financial technology platform has originated over 10,000 investments in residential real estate in the US. We have been investing in real estate and managing funds since 2004 and have exposure to over $6.4B in owner-occupied residential properties.
Your Mission
Your mission will be to drive business development and sales across a range of institutional investors including: pensions, endowments, sovereign wealth, insurance, family offices, etc. You will work with the Head of Sales to develop a robust pipeline of prospective investors for our REIT, separately managed accounts, and securitized products.
About You
You are a seasoned sales and marketing expert in the institutional investment management industry. You have a proven track record raising capital for a top tier investment manager. Preference will be given to those who have worked in real estate, private credit, structured products, or fixed income. Your geographic focus will be North America with a particular emphasis on Canadian institutions. Please do not apply if your prior work experience is in retail related investing, including the marketing of institutional products to RIAs.
Within 1 month, you’ll:
- Learn about equity agreements, Unison’s product, alternative financing options in the marketplace, and be able to clearly communicate Unison’s unique value propositions
- Build marketing materials to illustrate and quantify Unison’s value propositions
- Work with with our investment strategy team to build out a scalable and efficient customer outreach and marketing platform
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Prospect to institutional investors in pre-designated geographies and industries (Pensions, Endowments, Insurance, family offices, etc.)
- Represent Unison at industry gatherings and client conferences
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, Fund Operations and Finance teams to ensure successful, complete internal cross-collaboration
Your Skillset
- 10+ years of experience raising capital from a broad range of institutional investors in North America
- Proven and documented track record of success
- Extensive network of contacts within the institutional investor universe
- Knowledge of complex investment products related to residential real estate, fixed income, or structured credit
- Experience using Salesforce or other CRM software
- Demonstrated strength and success in deal structuring, negotiation, and documentation
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field
- Driven to help scale up our established business activities

Salary Range:
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 and the job duties must be performed from our San Francisco, CA office. This range does not include bonus potential, equity, or additional benefits that the company may provide. Unison offers a competitive total rewards package that includes company-paid health benefits, a 401k program, commuter benefits, as well as employee assistance programs.
The base salary offered will be determined by a wide array of factors such as experience, skills, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
