  • Depth in specific emissions-monitoring instrumentation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, MODBUS, or equivalent is extremely helpful.

Picarro develops precision scientific instruments that measure and monitor the concentration and isotopes of ambient gases. Its product line includes Gas Concentration Analyzers and Gas Isotope Analyzers used in natural gas, scientific research, and semiconductor applications. The instruments rely on Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) to deliver high-accuracy gas measurements, combining an optical cavity with laser absorption techniques to determine gas concentrations and isotope ratios. This approach differentiates Picarro from competitors by prioritizing precise, reliable readings with dedicated support services and targeted solutions for industries that need exact ambient gas analysis. The company’s goal is to provide accurate, dependable gas measurement tools that enable customers to monitor gas composition for safety, process control, and research insights.

What believers are saying

  • January 2026 Fenceline launched into HON compliance demand and real-time VOC monitoring needs.
  • March 2026 PI2124 targets pharma validation workflows before ISPE Aseptic Conference adoption.
  • October 2025 P-Cubed Mobile deepens utility workflows, audit trails, and cloud lock-in.

What critics are saying

  • Bruker, Thermo Fisher, ABB, and HORIBA compress pricing and account control.
  • EPA rule timelines force customer spending decisions by October 5, 2026, not indefinitely.
  • If utilities or chemical plants standardize on cheaper sensors, Picarro’s premium hardware margins erode.

What makes Picarro unique

  • Picarro’s BB-CRDS delivers part-per-trillion detection across methane, VOCs, isotopes, and VHP.
  • Its 2026 Fenceline Solution unifies continuous monitoring, mobile survey, and cloud analytics.

Picarro launches PI2124 hydrogen peroxide analyzer for pharmaceutical manufacturing compliance

Picarro has launched the PI2124 Hydrogen Peroxide Analyzer for monitoring vaporised hydrogen peroxide in pharmaceutical and regulated manufacturing environments. The analyzer continuously measures VHP at levels as low as 3 ppb and includes software enhancements for improved data integrity, audit readiness and operational efficiency. The device supports three key applications: aeration cycle monitoring to verify clearance before production, production campaign monitoring to detect unexpected VHP sources, and process development to optimise sterilization processes. According to Vice President Milos Markovic, the analyzer enables customers to improve compliance workflows whilst preserving validated hardware. Picarro will debut the PI2124 at the ISPE Aseptic Conference in Washington, DC on 23-24 March 2026. The Santa Clara-based company specialises in high-precision gas concentration analytical solutions.
