- Ability to install and work with fiber optic and copper cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, single-mode fiber, and multimode fiber.
- Ability to terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber connections using LC, SC, and MPO/MTP connectors and copper connections.
- Ability to read and interpret cable run lists, floor plans, and network diagrams.
- Ability to label cables and ports according to data center standards and maintain accurate documentation.
- Experience using optical time-domain reflectometers, power meters, and cable certifiers.
- Ability to use ladder racks, trays, and patch panels properly.
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI standards for structured cabling.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Install, route, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling within the data center.
- Perform rack and stack support with proper cable routing and management.
- Perform cable tracing, auditing, and cleanup to maintain organized pathways.
- Support build-outs, expansions, and decommissioning projects.
