Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in faculty affairs or human resources in an academic or healthcare setting, including faculty recruitment, appointments, reappointments, credentialing, faculty advertisements, and related faculty-affairs processes, activities, and systems.
  • Proven interpersonal skills for developing strong relationships with faculty, leaders, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to independently and proactively handle complex issues in a timely manner with sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Skills in decision-making, organizing, planning, problem-solving, and conflict management.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Review and determine staffing needs, job-posting requirements, salary guidelines, and labor-agreement interpretations for exempt and non-exempt staff in one or more University departments.
  • Manage administrative support needs for exempt and non-exempt staff and provide recommendations, improvements, solutions, and assistance as needed.
  • Manage and monitor technology needs, conduct inventory, and assess system requirements for assigned departments.
  • Develop and prepare budgets, financial forecasts, financial analyses, and actual-versus-budgeted performance reports for the departments.
  • Manage the use of facilities in one or more departments, including office space, workstations, equipment, and office supplies.
  • Manage administrative support for activities of one or more departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Manage and coordinate training sessions for assigned departments when new policies or practices are adopted.
  • Ensure compliance with University and federal regulations as they apply to assigned departments.
  • Identify, plan, and develop administrative policies for assigned departments.
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing University and departmental policies related to the administrative functions of assigned departments.
  • Assess and make recommendations regarding staff development and staffing levels.
  • Monitor, develop, plan, and execute systematic research on user requirements through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and competitive analysis.
  • Manage a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing and developing a team.
  • Demonstrated experience with Workday, Interfolio, and Salesforce.
