About the job
- A Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
- Active pharmacist licenses in Missouri and Kansas are required.
- Previous Pharmacist in Charge or regulatory leadership experience is required.
- Three or more years of institutional pharmacy experience are required.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations is required.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office is required.
- Serve as the designated Pharmacist in Charge in accordance with state regulations.
- Ensure compliance with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Board of Pharmacy, and all applicable regulatory agencies.
- Maintain pharmacy licenses, permits, and controlled substance registrations.
- Lead regulatory audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to maintain compliance.
- Partner with leadership, compliance, and quality teams to support operational excellence.
- Verify and interpret medication orders for accuracy and clinical appropriateness.
- Collaborate with prescribers to clarify medication therapies.
- Monitor laboratory values, medication therapies, and patient outcomes.
- Perform final verification of medications before dispensing.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to pharmacy staff and healthcare partners.
- Assist with daily workflow to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery.
- Support efficient, compliant pharmacy workflows.
- Train, mentor, and develop pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- Participate in on-call pharmacist coverage as needed.
- Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Long-term care pharmacy experience.
- Experience with audits, inspections, or accreditation surveys.
- Knowledge of quality improvement and compliance programs.
