Requirements
  • A specialized diploma from an accredited school of nursing is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • A Pennsylvania registered nurse license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Use the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients.
  • Develop nursing plans of care with patients and their designated care partners that address individualized needs and priorities and respect cultural beliefs and values.
  • Integrate evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, patient and family preferences, and cultural beliefs and values to deliver optimal healthcare.
  • Partner with patients and their designated care partners to identify learning needs and provide understandable and affirming education.
  • Follow established nursing practices and protocols to minimize risk of harm to patients and others.
  • Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate errors, and support ethical decision-making.
  • Use data to monitor care-process outcomes and apply improvement methods to test changes that improve the quality and safety of patient care.
  • Function within nursing and inter-professional teams through open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
  • Provide safe, compassionate, coordinated care based on patients' preferences, priorities, needs, and cultural beliefs and values.
  • Create an environment of belonging and inclusion and apply problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Pursue continued professional growth and development.
  • Act as a primary preceptor for appropriate staff members.
  • Participate in hospital- and practice-setting-based committees, including safety and quality-improvement committees.
  • Give and receive feedback and integrate appropriate changes into practice.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), or completion of a BSN within three years of hire, is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
