Responsibilities
  • Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and obtaining pertinent patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical records that match the patient request.
  • Answer phone calls concerning various Release of Information issues.
  • Respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records and log customer-provided information into the ROI On-Line database when necessary.
  • Respond to and process priority requests from physician offices and fax information to the physician office when necessary.
  • Log medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database.
  • Scan medical records into the ROI On-Line database.
  • Comply with site facility policies and regulations.
  • Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MediCopy Data Breach - Samantha E. Holbrook appointed Interim Co-Lead Counsel in MRO Corporation & Deaconess Health consolidated class action. A Philadelphia federal court recently appointed Shub Johns & Holbrook Partner Samantha E. Holbrook as interim co-lead class counsel in a class action lawsuit following a data breach with information vendor MediCopy. Mrs. Holbrook's appointment is announced alongside the presiding Judge's Order consolidating the MediCopy data breach with other class actions against MediCopy and the affected health entity, Deaconess Health. The case is captioned Brooks et al. v. MRO Corporation et al., Case No. 2:26-cv-01838 (E. D. Pa.). On or around February 2, 2026, Deaconess Health Systems ("Deaconess") announced a cybersecurity incident that involved sensitive information shared with the MRO Corporation ("MRO Corp."), owner of the third-party information vendor MediCopy who manages requests of information for Deaconess. According to the public notice released by Deaconess, an unauthorized agent gained access to Deaconess's patient information stored in MediCopy's data systems on or before January 13, 2026. The sensitive information reportedly exposed in the breach includes the following: * Names * Social Security numbers * Dates of birth * Medical record numbers * date(s) of service * and/or Health insurance identification numbers and medical records related to treatment received at Deaconess Lead attorneys in MRO Corp. and Deaconess Data Breach case. On March 20, 2026, Shub Johns & Holbrook filed a class action lawsuit against Deaconess and the MRO Corp. for the potential impact that the data breach could have or has already had on affected individuals. On June 16, 2026, the Court granted Plaintiffs' motion to appoint interim co-lead counsel and to consolidate related actions against MRO and Deaconess concerning the data breach. In its order, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania appointed Samantha E.
