About the job
- A Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Six to seven years of experience is required.
- Experience with Production Part Approval Process procedures and leading independent approval and production handover projects is required.
- Hands-on experience with cycle-time studies, Standard Work Combination charts, time-and-motion studies, and line balancing is required.
- Exposure to SMED, MOST, yield-improvement projects, lean manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering is required.
- Knowledge of capacity analysis, manufacturing standards, contingency planning, ergonomics, quality improvement, continuous improvement, 5S, process optimization, and low-cost automation is required.
- Experience with forged-part machining and related processes is required.
- Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Develop and execute project time plans in line with Advanced Product Quality Planning procedures.
- Work with project managers to maintain project Gantt charts.
- Provide inputs for engineering budgets.
- Coordinate, document, and execute phase reviews according to project milestones.
- Provide innovative cost-saving ideas and solutions.
- Manage new-product-development inventory.
- Maintain design control through proper use of parts-list and design revisions.
- Benchmark competitive products.
- Perform analytical evaluations of concepts before concept selection and detailing.
- Design processes based on lean manufacturing concepts.
- Perform capacity analysis and define manufacturing standards and contingency plans.
- Initiate continuous improvements to minimize operator fatigue through new tools and machinery on production lines.
- Develop new process concepts for production and yield improvement, and develop guidelines for manufacturing-activity sequences on the shop floor.
- Design and develop machines, conduct trials, prove out designs, install equipment, and hand over production.
- Respond to requests for quotes and customer requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with customer reviews of projects and programs.
- Assist in preparing and presenting concept and design proposals to customers.
- Follow safety and environmental policies.

Senior plc awarded multi year Airbus contract for aerospace components. Senior plc (LON:SNR), an international manufacturer of high technology components and systems, has announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by Airbus for the design, qualification and manufacture of various highly engineered Aerospace Standard parts for fluid conveyance applications. The initial production will supply components for both dual and single aisle commercial aircraft platforms, with significant further potential in the spares and repairs markets. Delivery will begin in Q1 2026, from Senior's facilities in Europe. This contract highlights Senior's expertise in designing and producing complex, highly engineered, aerospace components, as well as its ability to secure major business with leading airframers. This award reinforces Senior's strong and extensive experience in product design and qualification, and continued investment in advanced manufacturing technologies. These new product lines will further enhance Senior's capabilities in pressed, formed, and highly engineered standard components. Commenting on the award, Launie Fleming, CEO of Senior Aerospace: "Our teams in Europe have been working hard to develop and qualify these highly engineered standard parts that have multiple applications across the commercial aircraft business of Airbus.
