Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Certified Nursing Assistant license is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience are required.
  • The ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail is required.
  • The ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines is required.
  • The ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion is required.
  • The ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary is required.
  • The ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide for patients’ personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assisting with showers.
  • Assist with meals and feed patients, ambulate, turn, and position patients, and provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Administer enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preparations, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic and sitz baths, and apply restraints.
  • Perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
  • Answer patients’ call lights and requests promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff and transport patients and equipment.
  • Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse to ensure professional assessment.
  • Measure and record food and liquid intake and output, and check and record vital signs.
  • Help patients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
  • Perform minor physical therapy routines.
  • Collect urine samples, attach electrocardiogram leads, and remove catheters.
  • Assemble, monitor, and discontinue intravenous nutrition feeding.
