Requirements
  • Be a licensed social worker, hold a Master of Social Work, or be a school guidance counselor.
  • Maintain current professional liability insurance.
  • Be able and willing to adjust work hours according to scholar needs.
  • For licensed staff, complete the training hours required every two years to maintain the license and complete mandated reporter training every five years.
  • Provide valid Pennsylvania State Criminal History Report, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearances, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Report based on fingerprinting.
  • Have working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local law governing the proper handling of scholar information.
  • Attend weekly team meetings with the WES Program Director.
Responsibilities
  • Provide social work services for assigned projects at Global Leadership Academy five days per week for at least 6.5 hours per day, excluding a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Provide individual therapeutic sessions for identified students, prioritizing Individualized Education Program scholars with prescribed counseling services.
  • Facilitate group processes and psychoeducation sessions with identified scholars.
  • Conduct school-wide workshops and professional development sessions as identified, with no more than four sessions per school year.
  • Manage and follow through on multi-agency services provided to students and their families, particularly where needs and services affect students' educational adjustment.
  • Serve as liaison between the school and community agencies regarding child abuse or neglect reports and crisis events.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for school social-work services and attend required meetings.
  • Document each service encounter within 24 hours of service delivery.
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative data reports for groups, workshops, and individual interventions monthly or as requested.
  • Support the attendance initiative by meeting with parents or guardians at school or in the community as needed.
  • Provide system-level consultation to enhance classroom and school climate, promote optimal learning, improve interpersonal relationships, and alleviate barriers to adjustment.
  • Maintain compliance with the Consultant Guidelines included in the agreement.
  • Perform services during hours necessary to meet the assignment and, when working on Global Leadership Academy premises, during normal business hours if required.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest with services performed for other persons or entities.
  • Obtain and maintain the qualifications, certifications, and licenses necessary to complete assignments.
