The St Regis hotel brand is coming to Marbella with a project involving an investment of 500 million.

The St Regis hotel brand is coming to Marbella with a project involving an investment of 500 million. International news 2026-10-21 The investment group Platinum Estates and Sierra Blanca have reached an agreement with Marriott to build a luxury resort and 151 homes in Las Dunas. An investment of over 500 million euros in a five-star hotel with 169 rooms and 151 luxury homes, which will create 2,000 direct jobs and 4,500 indirect jobs during its construction, and more than 450 jobs once it becomes operational. These are the spectacular figures that sum up the hotel and branded residential development to be built in the Las Dunas area, in east Marbella. The figures have been put on the table following the signing of an agreement reached by Platinum Estates, a Hong Kong-based property investment group, and the Marbella-based developer Sierra Blanca Estates with Marriott International to bring this investment to fruition. The hotel will be known as the St Regis Marbella Resort, while the residential area will be called The Residences at St Regis Marbella Resort. The agreement covers the entire development, and construction is expected to begin this year, with the opening scheduled for 2031. This will be the first Marriott hotel on the Costa del Sol to operate under its luxury St Regis brand. Planned for a seafront plot of over 160,000 square metres in Marbella, the project will also feature amenities within a destination designed to operate all year round. The site offers over 350 metres of seafront, protected by a natural dune system (the Real de Zaragoza dune, which will be regenerated), which preserves its privacy and provides guests and owners with direct access to one of Marbella's best-preserved stretches of beach. Taraf and Marriott to launch JW Marriott Residences, Yas Island.

Taraf and Marriott to launch JW Marriott Residences, Yas Island. Posted on October 20, 2026 The design follows JW Marriott's principles of architectural awe, serene spaces, elements of nature and warm touches Taraf, the real estate division of UAE-headquartered investment holding group Yas Holding, and Steppe have signed an agreement through their joint venture with Marriott International, Inc. to launch JW Marriott Residences Abu Dhabi, Yas Island, a new branded residential development on Yas Island. Set directly on the beach with the golf course alongside it, the project occupies a rare position between the blue of the Arabian Gulf and the green of the surrounding fairways. Beyond its immediate setting, residents will be connected to the wider experiences of Yas Island, from its beaches, golf course and waterfront dining to Yas Marina, Yas Mall, Yas Marina Circuit and the island's internationally recognised leisure and entertainment attractions. Yas Island is approximately 15 minutes by road from Zayed International Airport and around 30 minutes from central Abu Dhabi. The project has been conceived around the relationship between home, nature and wellbeing. Its architecture and interiors draw inspiration from Abu Dhabi's landscape, light, craft and heritage, expressed through natural materials, tactile details and a restrained contemporary aesthetic. The design follows JW Marriott's principles of architectural awe, serene spaces, elements of nature and warm touches, creating spaces that encourage a sense of calm and connection. A comprehensive collection of resident amenities will complement the homes, including a residents' lounge, fitness centre, steam and sauna facilities, treatment and relaxation spaces, meeting spaces, golf simulator and games area, media room, children's activity area and guest suites. Together, these spaces are designed to support wellbeing, connection, leisure and everyday living. Low Ping, Group CEO of Yas Holding, said: "Our objective is to ensure JW Marriott's philosophy is integrated throughout the design and experience of the project. At Taraf, we are focused on translating that philosophy into a distinctive residential experience, from the relationship with nature and light to thoughtfully considered spaces for wellbeing and connection, while bringing the design ethos and meticulous attention to detail that define our developments." Jaidev Menezes, Regional Vice President - Mixed-Use Development, EMEA at Marriott International, said: "JW Marriott Residences extends the brand's approach to thoughtful hospitality beyond a stay and into everyday life. This marks our second collaboration with Taraf, following the sold-out W Residences Abu Dhabi - Al Maryah Island. With Abu Dhabi's first JW Marriott Residences, owners can expect a distinctive lifestyle shaped by genuine service, curated amenities and meaningful opportunities for connection, all designed to support wellbeing and enrich everyday living." Cem Habib, Steppe Capital Board Member, said: "This location brings together two of Yas Island's defining landscapes: the blue of the waterfront and the green of the fairways. Combined with its proximity to the wider experiences of the island, it creates an exceptional setting for residential living."

Florida regional airport may feature a $34 million hotel by 2028.

Florida regional airport may feature a $34 million hotel by 2028. USA TODAY NETWORK - Florida Oct. 19, 2026, 3:59 p.m. ET * Vero Beach City Council approved a lease for a new TownePlace Suites by Marriott on airport property. * The 116-room hotel is planned to open by 2028 near the Jackie Robinson Training Complex. * One council member voted against the 40-year lease, citing concerns over lost rent during negotiations and construction. * The project is estimated to cost about $34 million, with construction potentially starting in early 2027. The Vero Beach City Council recently approved a lease for a new Marriott hotel on Vero Beach Regional Airport property - and hopes are that it opens within the next two years. A 40-year lease with Marriott for 4.7 acres of city-owned airport property was approved Oct. 13. The land is near the existing Star Suites hotel and across from the Jackie Robinson Training Complex, formerly known as Dodgertown. The lease includes a 10-year renewal option. The 73,000-square-foot TownePlace Suites by Marriott, located at 3800 Aviation Blvd., is planned to have 116 rooms and be open by 2028. Here's what TCPalm know. Did any Vero Beach Council member vote 'no' to new hotel at VRB? Council member John Carroll cast the only 'no' vote, expressing concern about the two to three years of negotiations over the land lease and the two years the city will go without rent while the hotel is built. A lease should have been finalized soon after the city approved an infrastructure agreement for the land in 2024, he said. "Now we're sitting here from July 2024 until October 2026. Two-plus years have gone by and we're just getting this lease," Carroll said, adding it will be a total of four years before the city starts collecting rent. "So we've effectively kept that parcel off the market, and have not received any rent for that time frame, and that bothers me. Because it's giving land away, giving hard-earned money from our citizens away to developers, and that's wrong." Where is Vero Beach Regional Airport? Vero Beach Regional Airport is located at 3400 Cherokee Drive, Vero Beach, Florida. The TownePlace Suites by Marriott would be located at 3800 Aviation Blvd. Which airlines fly in and out of Vero Beach Airport? * Breeze Airways (since February 2023) * JetBlue Airlines (since December 2025) * American Airlines (starting February 2026) When will new Marriott hotel come to Vero Beach airport? Construction could begin in early 2027 as the team works on project design and permitting, according to Cary Goldberg, president of Diversified Realty Development Co. of Deerfield Beach and manager of VB Hotel 1 LLC. "So we're on the clock," Goldberg said. Projects of this size typically take two years to complete, but Goldberg hopes to get it done sooner - in 16 or 18 months, he said. How much will the new hotel coming to Vero Beach Airport cost? In order to accommodate construction of the hotel, developers have about two years before they're required to begin paying the $7,013 monthly rent, according to city records. The project is expected to cost about $34 million, with about $500,000 coming from a Florida Department of Transportation grant. Goldberg paid the matching $500,000 required by the grant, officials said. Its editors independently choose its recommendations. Marriott opens first City Express hotel in India, expanding budget-friendly stays.

Marriott opens first City Express hotel in India, expanding budget-friendly stays. By Iuliia Tore / Oct 18, 2026 / 3 minutes of reading Table of Contents Marriott International has introduced its City Express by Marriott brand to India with the opening of a 56-room hotel in Rajasthan, marking the midscale brand's first property in South Asia. City Express by Marriott Udaipur Nathdwara Highway is located along National Highway 58, connecting Udaipur with Nathdwara, one of the region's important religious tourism destinations. The opening was announced on October 13 and expands Marriott's offering beyond its established luxury and upscale hotels in India. The new property targets travelers seeking internationally branded accommodation at a more accessible price point, including business visitors, families and pilgrims travelling through Rajasthan. Marriott opens 56-room City Express near Udaipur. The hotel is located in Leelera, near the Udaipur-Nathdwara corridor, providing road access to the Aravalli Hills and several of Rajasthan's cultural and religious attractions. The property has 56 guestrooms designed around practical accommodation rather than extensive resort-style facilities. Rooms include air conditioning, workspaces, complimentary Wi-Fi and modern bathrooms. Guests have access to a restaurant, a 24-hour fitness centre, complimentary continental breakfast and on-site parking. Marriott's official property listing also identifies electric vehicle charging facilities. The location is approximately 35 kilometres from Maharana Pratap Airport and around 30 kilometres from Udaipur Railway Station, making it suitable for travelers combining road, rail and air journeys. Nearby attractions include Eklingji Temple, the historic Nagda temples and Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara. Udaipur's City Palace and Lake Pichola are accessible by road for visitors extending their stay. READ MORE: City Express makes its South asian debut. City Express originated as a hotel brand focused on affordable, functional accommodation and became part of Marriott International's portfolio as the company expanded its presence in the midscale segment. Its arrival in India gives Marriott another way to compete for travelers who prioritise location, basic comforts and predictable service over luxury amenities. The launch is significant because Marriott's Indian portfolio includes several established upscale and luxury brands, while demand for internationally branded midscale hotels is increasing in regional cities and emerging travel corridors. The new property also participates in Marriott Bonvoy, allowing eligible guests to earn and redeem points according to the programme's rules. Rajasthan attracts pilgrimage and leisure travel. The Udaipur-Nathdwara corridor serves several different travel markets, combining heritage tourism in Udaipur with religious visits to Nathdwara and surrounding temples. For visitors exploring Rajasthan by road, the new City Express offers an alternative to city-centre accommodation, particularly for travelers planning visits across multiple destinations. The property is already listed on Marriott's official reservation platform, where travelers can check room rates, availability and Marriott Bonvoy offers. The October opening marks the brand's commercial debut in India rather than a future hotel signing, extending Marriott's presence in one of Asia's fastest-developing hospitality markets.
