The program serves as a resource, working with administration to improve clinician well-being through both individual and organizational strategies. "Supporting physician well-being helps create better care for everyone," said Willie Underwood III, MD, MSc, MPH, president of the American Medical Association. "Studies show that when physicians are supported, patients benefit from safer care, higher quality, and a better overall experience. "Like everyone, health workers deserve the right to pursue mental health care confidentially," said Dr. Tara VanHise, a family medicine physician at Capital Health Primary Care - Ewing and medical director of Capital Health's THRIVE Clinician Wellness Program. Capital Health begins construction of first micro-hospital in Bucks County.

Capital Health begins construction of first micro-hospital in Bucks County. Thursday, September 10, 2026 To help meet the growing demand for more robust health care services in Bucks County, Capital Health has begun construction of Capital Health - Oxford Valley, the first micro-hospital in Bucks County. Micro-hospitals are an emerging option in health care, with fully accredited facilities that are smaller than full-service hospitals but more comprehensive than urgent care centers or standalone emergency rooms. Micro-hospitals like Capital Health - Oxford Valley provide inpatient and emergency care 24/7 with services designed to meet the needs of their home communities. Conveniently located near the Oxford Valley Mall, the new facility at 280 Middletown Boulevard in Langhorne, Pennsylvania will offer a range of services to nearby communities, including an emergency department, diagnostic procedures and services, and some inpatient beds for short-stay, low-acuity patients. Capital Health - Oxford Valley is expected to open in early 2028. "Our acceptance by the Bucks County community and the demand for more services is what drove our vision for the Capital Health - Oxford Valley. With Capital Health outpatient practices in Yardley, Newtown, Richboro, Levittown, New Hope, Langhorne, and Washington Crossing, we see this micro-hospital at Oxford Valley as a convenient and essential facility for our growing patient population in Pennsylvania," said Al Maghazehe, president and CEO of Capital Health. "When completed, this micro-hospital will offer diagnostic services, emergency care, and inpatient beds for short-stay, low-acuity patients, creating another access point for health care in the region. In addition to bolstering our already robust medical offerings in the area, the new micro-hospital will create close to 200 jobs and provide meaningful economic stimulus representing a $60 million investment. We look forward to welcoming patients through the doors of this new Oxford Valley location in 2028." "Today is an exciting day for Capital Health and for the communities we serve. Kicking off this construction project for our Oxford Valley location is an important milestone," said Samuel J. Plumeri, Jr., Chairman, Board of Trustees, Capital Healthcare Inc. "This project is the result of years of planning, collaboration, and a shared belief that health care should be accessible, convenient, and responsive to the needs of our growing region." Situated on seven acres adjacent to the Oxford Valley Mall and a growing residential complex, Capital Health - Oxford Valley will cover 53,000 square feet with 18 emergency department treatment bays, 10 inpatient rooms, four procedure rooms, and diagnostic imaging to include MRI, CT scans, and mammography. Among the non-surgical diagnostic and medical procedures that will be offered when the site is fully developed are upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, urological procedures, diagnostic and therapeutic injections, vascular access and interventions, and pain management procedures. Capital Health is the Central New Jersey/Lower Bucks County region's leader in providing progressive, quality patient care with significant investments in physicians, nurses, and staff, as well as advanced technology.
