Blue Industries acquires GeneQuest to integrate genetic testing with microRNA cancer risk assessment

Blue Industries has acquired all shares of GeneQuest, making it a wholly owned subsidiary effective 1 August 2026. The acquisition was completed through a purchase from Euglena Company. Blue Industries develops Bluedrop, a home-use cancer risk assessment kit that analyses microRNA patterns in urine to evaluate risks for seven types of cancer. GeneQuest has provided genetic testing services since 2014, offering analysis of over 360 hereditary traits including disease risks and physical characteristics. The acquisition aims to create an integrated healthcare pathway combining GeneQuest's genetic analysis with Blue Industries' current cancer risk assessment technology. This will enable users to understand both their inherited disease predispositions and current cancer risks, supporting appropriate screening and medical consultation. GeneQuest's existing management team, led by CEO Osamu Iwata, will continue, with Blue Industries' representatives joining the board. GeneQuest's headquarters will relocate to Blue Industries' office in Tokyo's Chuo ward.
