Responsibilities
Provide, direct, and supervise quality patient care, including screening, evaluation, treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education, and documentation.
Ensure patient care follows organizational guidelines, professional standards, community needs, and applicable federal and California state guidelines.
Serve as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current and prospective patients and internal and external customers.
Coordinate across disciplines to provide consistent patient care.
Participate in quality assurance and customer service activities.
Direct and supervise assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Follow organizational and facility safety procedures for personal protection and patient safety.
Develop treatment plans and provide treatment consistent with benefit and reimbursement levels to achieve the best functional outcome for each patient.
Complete evaluations, daily progress notes, summaries, and monthly reports as required.
Ensure compliance with the Physical Therapy code of ethics and physical therapy practice requirements in California.
Educate staff, healthcare professionals, and third-party payers about intervention benefits and functional outcomes.
Participate in care plan meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and family training to communicate patient status during therapy.
Attend continuing education seminars and workshops to maintain current clinical skills, programs, and techniques.
Provide in-service training sessions and educational presentations to company, team, or facility personnel.
Maintain appropriate state licensure, certification, and credentialing.
Submit billing, payroll, and expense documentation in a timely manner.
Make appropriate referrals to other members of the rehabilitation team.
Follow safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment.
Desired Qualifications
A Master's degree in Physical Therapy is preferred.
One year of Physical Therapy experience is preferred.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be exposed to blood, body fluids, burns, infectious diseases, air contaminants (including tobacco smoke), hazardous chemicals, and to the Hepatitis B virus, and will be responsible for following company safety policies and procedures and Health Department regulations regarding contact with any of the above.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education required: Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
Masters degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Licensure or Certification, as required by State guidelines. CPR Certification
Experience: 1 year Physical Therapy experience preferred. 1-2 years experience in a residential/assisted living or
skilled nursing facility preferred.
