About the company

Pinterest runs a visual search and discovery app where people look for ideas in areas like cooking, home decor, fashion, and travel, then save the images they like to themed collections called boards. In 2012 it became the fastest standalone website to reach 10 million monthly US visitors, according to measurement firm comScore. Each saved image, called a Pin, links back to its source, such as a recipe or a product page, and people search with words or with a photo to find similar ideas and things to buy. Brands pay to show ads among Pins in feeds and search results, and Pinterest also sells ads on streaming TV. It launched in 2010 and is based in San Francisco, California.

Wayfair puts a pin in what's hot in home décor.

Wayfair puts a pin in what's hot in home décor. Oct 9, 2026 | News Wayfair UK has teamed up with Pinterest for a new campaign exploring the home and interiors trends catching shoppers' attention, with cosy living spaces and bold, colourful décor emerging as two key styles. The collaboration uses Pinterest search data to identify emerging consumer preferences and turn them into shoppable product collections, helping customers discover and recreate the latest looks in their homes. The first stage of the campaign, called 'Wayfair Wishlist', analysed trends gaining popularity among UK Pinterest users over a 12-month period. Two distinct styles emerged: 'Cosy Spaces', which focuses on warmth, comfort and inviting interiors, and 'Dopamine Décor', which embraces brighter colours, playful designs and more individual approaches to decorating. Olivia Sauerwein, Wayfair's Resident Style Advisor, explained: "Cosy Spaces is centred around warm, comfortable and inviting rooms, while Dopamine Décor takes a more playful approach, embracing bold colour, personality and unexpected details." Wayfair used the findings to create curated collections on Pinterest, allowing shoppers to browse products, save their favourites and click through to the retailer's website to make purchases. According to the retailer, the first phase delivered a 4.5 per cent incremental sales lift, alongside a 3.5 percentage point increase in action intent and a 2.5 per cent rise in Pin awareness. Building on those results, the partnership has now launched 'Wayfair's Top Pins', highlighting the 10 home and interiors products that attracted the most engagement during the initial campaign. The ranking includes everything from bedding and wallpaper to furniture and decorative accessories, offering an insight into the products and styles resonating with UK shoppers. Among the most popular products are the Silentnight Supersoft Natural Gingham Duvet Set, Cath Kidston Canopy Stripe Wallpaper and two bedspreads from Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's Siena collection. Furniture also features prominently, with a rattan panel bed, upholstered storage bed, TV stand and shell-shaped sofa making the list. The campaign demonstrates how retailers can use social media trends and consumer search behaviour to inform their product ranges and connect shoppers with the styles they are already exploring online. For the homewares sector, the findings point towards continued consumer interest in both comforting, understated interiors and more expressive, colourful designs, suggesting shoppers are increasingly looking to bring personality into their homes. Pinterest's AI turns beauty Pins into salon action plans with cost and time estimates

Pinterest unveiled a new AI-powered feature on Tuesday that transforms saved beauty pins into actionable salon plans. Called "Beauty Guides", the tool uses visual intelligence and generative AI to translate inspiration images into professional terminology stylists use, such as "balayage", "root melt", or "almond nails". Users can access the guides by tapping "Get the Guide" within the app. The feature provides specific instructions for achieving desired looks, including estimated time requirements, price ranges, and maintenance schedules. For example, balayage treatments cost hundreds of dollars and require regular touch-ups. At launch, Beauty Guides works with pins related to hairstyles, hair colour, nail shapes, and finishes. The feature builds on existing user behaviour of bringing inspiration photos to salons, whilst adding practical planning information for appointments.
