Adult Therapist - Older Adults Programs
+ $4,000 sign-on bonus + $2,000 bilingual bonus
The role is based in Van Nuys, California, and requires field visits with personal transportation.
About the job
- A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work with a current ACSW registration number through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or a master's degree in psychology or a related behavioral science.
- Maintain current status as a registered associate under California law.
- Hold a valid California driver's license in good standing and be insurable by the Center's auto insurance carrier.
- Have personal, reliable transportation to conduct field visits.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health care.
- Have experience working with adults and/or older adults with mental illness.
- Have knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5).
- Provide direct and indirect client services, including clinical and field-based case management, plan development, placement services, assistance with daily living, individual and/or group counseling, crisis intervention, and community outreach and education.
- Participate in a team approach and provide outreach, assessment, and evaluation of assigned older adult clients.
- Determine each individual's strengths, needs, and resources.
- Assess clients' psychosocial impairment, self-care potential, family and support network availability, independent living needs, financial status, educational, employment or training needs, and social or recreational needs.
- Develop and coordinate service plans.
- Assist clients in developing independent living skills and resources, including peer or caregiver support, social or recreational activities, volunteer or educational goals, needed to implement and achieve individual service-plan goals.
- Transport clients to and from appropriate services as necessary.
- Provide crisis intervention by supporting clients and others at the onset of a crisis, assisting with problem resolution, and coordinating or arranging needed services.
- Provide 50% of services in the field in support of clients' individual service plans.
- Meet with each client as frequently as needed.
- Assist clients in accessing peer support, self-help, and recovery-based services.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and participate in staff, clinical, and community meetings as assigned.
- Provide consultation and assessments to community services.
- Provide direct crisis intervention and support families requiring help.
- Bilingual and bicultural Spanish ability.
