Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent related experience.
  • Solid understanding of general bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently with numerical data and perform arithmetic computations quickly.
  • Skilled in preparing routine financial reports and records and following oral and written instructions.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiar with basic accounting software functions.
  • A minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • English proficiency.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the accounting function within the Accounting Department for assigned entities, including KDDI America, Inc., its subsidiaries, and Telehouse International Corporation of America.
  • Perform related accounting tasks as directed by the Senior Accounting Director or Senior Accounting Manager.
  • Record vendor invoices in the general ledger.
  • Process vendor payments accurately and on time.
  • Prepare routine accounts receivable and accounts payable reports and coordinate invoice approvals with department managers.
  • Record issued invoices and customer payments in the general ledger.
  • Maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, loans, and accrued expenses, and post entries to the system.
  • Execute and review monthly closing tasks and results, ensuring compliance with United States generally accepted accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Prepare and oversee consolidated financial statements, including the monthly reporting package to headquarters.
  • Perform fluctuation analysis for profit and loss and balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide supporting documentation to internal and external auditors.
  • Review and recommend improvements to accounting operations and systems.
  • Enhance the functionality and capabilities of the company's accounting systems.
  • Support financial tasks for KDDI America, Telehouse International Corporation of America, and other subsidiaries, as well as special projects.
  • Serve as a knowledge resource for the accounting team and company regarding departmental operations.
  • Ensure authorized access for clients, vendors, and visitors in compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Provide miscellaneous support, including visitor arrangements and business trip coordination.

Verizon partners with KDDI to power BMW vehicles with 5G connectivity in US

Verizon Communications has partnered with KDDI Corporation to provide connectivity for newly manufactured BMW Group vehicles in the United States. Under the agreement, Verizon will supply 5G Standalone and LTE connectivity for new BMW, MINI and other BMW Group vehicles, supporting the automaker's ConnectedDrive platform. Verizon's nationwide 5G infrastructure will power advanced telematics, remote functions, digital infotainment and app-based services. The collaboration introduces Verizon's nationwide 5G Standalone offering for connected vehicles, with newly manufactured BMW Group vehicles being the first to operate on the platform. The agreement strengthens Verizon's position in enterprise wireless services whilst expanding its presence in the connected vehicle market. It also builds on Verizon's existing relationship with KDDI and expands its automotive portfolio, which includes telematics services for Volkswagen Group brands.

KDDI invests $65M in Coincheck Group for 14.9% stake at $2.28 per share

Coincheck Group has completed a $65 million strategic investment from KDDI Corporation, a major Japanese telecommunications company. KDDI acquired 28.5 million newly issued shares at $2.28 per share, representing 14.9% ownership of Coincheck Group's outstanding ordinary shares. KDDI will receive registration rights and can nominate one non-executive director to Coincheck Group's board at its September 2026 Annual General Meeting. Alongside the investment, Coincheck's Japanese subsidiary entered a business alliance agreement with KDDI focused on expanding Japan's digital asset market through mutual customer referral programmes and revenue sharing. The partnership aims to combine KDDI's distribution reach with Coincheck's crypto platform expertise to broaden mainstream access to digital assets. J.P. Morgan served as financial adviser on the transaction.

South Korea's RLWRLD raises $15M to build robotics foundation models for physical AI

RLWRLD, a South Korean physical AI startup developing robotics foundation models, has raised $15 million in seed funding from a coalition of Korean and Japanese investors. Backers include LG Electronics, SK Telecom, KDDI, ANA Holdings, Mitsui Chemicals and Shimadzu Corporation, alongside AI-focused venture firms Hashed, Mirae Asset and Global Brain. Founded by Jung-hee Ryu, whose previous company Olaworks was acquired by Intel, RLWRLD is building foundation models that enable robots to reason and act autonomously in physical environments such as factories, warehouses and logistics hubs. The company trains its models on real-world sensors, robotics systems and industrial workflows. The founding team includes KAIST Chair Professor Jinwoo Shin, Kurly's former CTO and a former BCG partner. RLWRLD is collaborating with leading Korean universities and robotics manufacturers.

KDDI invests $68M in Coincheck parent, launches joint crypto venture

KDDI has invested approximately $65 million (¥10.2 billion) in Coincheck Group N.V., acquiring a 14.9% stake in the Dutch parent company of Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck. The investment was made through a third-party share allocation. KDDI, Coincheck and au Financial Holdings are establishing a new joint venture called au Coincheck Digital Assets. KDDI will hold 50.1%, Coincheck 40% and au Financial Holdings 9.9%. The company will develop non-custodial wallet services and digital finance products, integrating with KDDI's telecommunications services, au PAY mobile payments and Ponta loyalty points. The venture aims to provide au ecosystem users with access to cryptocurrency and digital assets. The non-custodial wallet will be offered as a mini-app within the au PAY payment service.
