Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 3–4 years of experience working with youth between the ages of 14 and 24.
  • Ability to analyze research data, draw conclusions, and provide well-founded recommendations.
  • Strong program planning and implementation skills.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
  • Skill in organizing and managing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Expertise in principles and procedures related to student advisement and related services.
  • Advanced writing and editorial skills.
  • Ability to initiate, plan, organize, prioritize, and execute assignments effectively.
  • Ability to manage and facilitate educational programs successfully.
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines while collaborating with diverse educational partners.
  • Fingerprinting is required prior to or within the first 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Attend all Department of Youth and Community Development educational trainings as required and evaluate varied educational materials provided by the Department of Youth and Community Development.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with facilitators to develop, implement, and modify learning plans for youth ages 14–24.
  • Meet with the Senior Education Specialist and facilitator team to ensure appropriate delivery of educational content stipulated by the Department of Youth and Community Development.
  • Confirm that participants achieve learning, educational, and performance outcomes.
  • Assist with recruiting and interviewing Summer Youth Employment Program facilitators as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate facilitators to ensure high-quality delivery of educational content.
  • Co-facilitate training workshops on the use of materials and teaching methods.
  • Meet with participants in all programs, both in person and virtually, to discuss their progress.
  • Maintain relationships with program staff to support successful participant outcomes.
  • Review related workforce curricula for possible adoption or incorporation.
  • Plan and coordinate public, professional, or community-related educational programs.
  • Develop curricula, prepare presentations and materials, and organize, deliver, or facilitate classes, workshops, seminars, and other training services.
  • Provide student advisement and associated services as appropriate.
  • Research and prepare grant proposals or promotional material upon request.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
