Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and staff via phone, electronic communication, or in person; manage clinic voicemail, text, and fax communications.
  • Register and preregister patients, ensuring accurate demographic, insurance, and eligibility information in the electronic health record.
  • Perform patient check-in and support self-check-in processes, including confirming arrival, verifying key information, collecting copays, ensuring required forms are completed, and notifying the clinical team.
  • Monitor appointment confirmations and follow up with patients regarding unconfirmed appointments.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments across multiple service lines in accordance with established protocols.
  • Manage assigned worklists related to scheduling and patient communication; conduct outreach to support care team and clinic priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally and escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Receive, process, and route travel documents and medical records in accordance with policy; collaborate with peers and care teams to support efficient clinic flow and patient experience.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold service standards.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the organization's mission, core values, and vision in daily work.
  • Participate in departmental improvement initiatives and maintain required competencies.
  • Support enrollment in the MySEARHC patient portal.
  • Work a schedule that may vary based on clinic operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • One year of healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience.

Juneau Youth Services provides emergency, residential, and community-based behavioral health care for children, teens, and their families in Alaska. Services are tailored and strengths-based, delivered in home-like, least-restrictive settings where trained caregivers and clinical professionals form therapeutic relationships to support youth development and family functioning.
