About the job

Requirements
  • Substantial experience independently leading complex partner onboarding, post-production, content operations, or product launches, including taking ambiguous, multi-team work from planning through launch and stable operations.
  • Proven project or technical program management experience, with strong judgment on priorities, dependencies, risk, and when to escalate.
  • Strong partner management skills, including building trust, setting expectations, navigating difficult conversations, and anticipating partner and internal team needs.
  • Clear, timely written and verbal communication, including explaining technical and operational issues in plain language and translating them into decisions, owners, and next steps.
  • Experience coordinating Product, Engineering, Operations, business teams, and external vendors toward a common launch outcome.
  • Ability to work directly with Product and Engineering, translate partner context into problem statements, workflow requirements, and user stories, discuss APIs and configurations, and understand engineering roadmap priorities and trade-offs.
  • Understanding of the Netflix product or comparable streaming products, the content delivery and fulfillment ecosystem, and how delivery choices affect the member experience.
  • Ability to move between detail and the end-to-end picture, simplifying the partner experience while keeping ongoing operational work sustainable.
Responsibilities
  • Clarify deal goals, asset and localization needs, timing, partner contacts, and open questions with Business Development, Regional Merchandising, and Content teams as deals move into delivery planning.
  • Assess partner capabilities against specifications and Netflix systems and operational capabilities; identify gaps, potential build needs, and effort required from integration through stable operations.
  • Apply gateway eligibility criteria agreed with Engineering to determine delivery through UI, API, or a vendor route; work with Operations Vendor Management on vendor model and cost while considering effort for partners and Netflix teams.
  • Lead pre-qualification across long-form and promotional assets; coordinate sample and quality reviews; determine which assets Netflix can accept or conform, what partners must change, and whether vendor or post-vendor quality control is needed.
  • Translate partner context and deal nuance into clear technical and operational requirements for Product and Engineering; frame problems, define workflows, write user stories where useful, and clarify timing, constraints, and trade-offs; work with PACT and Solution Engineering on configuration and integration questions.
  • Prepare partners to meet specifications, coordinate tests, support first deliveries, answer delivery and specification questions, involve technical specialists as needed, and remove early blockers.
  • Keep partners, vendors, and internal teams aligned on decisions, risks, owners, and next steps; communicate early and anticipate team needs.
  • Hand off the partner profile, setup, and open risks to the Launch Operations project manager once delivery is reliable.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with media specifications, media processing, quality control, and direct delivery tools.

What believers are saying

  • Growth is steady: July 2026 results showed second-quarter revenue up 13% to $12.6 billion, with a 33.4% operating margin.
  • Advertising is scaling fast: in July 2026, Netflix forecast ad revenue roughly doubling to about $3 billion this year.
  • Pay aims high: Netflix's culture memo says it pays each person's personal top of market for role and location.

What critics are saying

  • Cuts are on the table: Puck reported in October 2026 that Netflix is weighing layoffs of about 5% of staff.
  • The performance bar is unforgiving: managers apply a keeper test, asking whether they would fight to keep each employee.
  • YouTube draws more TV viewing: figures reported in October 2026 put it at 14.2% of TV time, Netflix at 7.8%.

What makes Netflix unique

  • Scale is its moat: Netflix passed 325 million paid memberships by the end of 2025, serving nearly a billion viewers.
  • Non-English shows carry real weight: they drew over a third of Netflix viewing in the first half of 2026.
  • It owns its ad technology: the in-house Netflix Ads Suite has run in all 12 ad-tier countries since mid-2025.

Possible Love' offers four of the year's best performances in Lee Chang-dong's class-conscious drama

Lee Chang-dong's new drama, Possible Love, follows two couples who meet during the filming of a documentary. It opens in select cinemas Friday and begins streaming on Netflix on November 6. It is the director's first film in eight years, since the thriller Burning. Inspired by a 2009 incident in which a Korean car factory laid off one-third of its workforce, it is set in an industrial town two years after a similar tragedy. Sul Kyung-gu plays Ho-seok, a laid-off welder who has become an alcoholic. Jeon Do-yeon plays his wife, Mi-ok, who agrees to be interviewed by Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong), an aspiring filmmaker. Zo In-sung plays Ye-ji's husband. The film examines class, power and documentary ethics. The reviewer calls its four lead performances among the year's best.

Netflix stock is down 46% in a year to $67.05; could it halve again?

Netflix stock has lost 46% over the past year, while the S&P 500 returned 15.1%. At $67.05, the shares sit 42.1% below their highest close of the past year, $115.75. Since 2007, Netflix has traded through 15 market shocks and lost half or more from its high in three of them. On average, it fell 27.8% in these windows, against 15.8% for the S&P 500. The deepest fall, 72%, came during the 2011 US debt ceiling crisis. Netflix reported $49.7 billion in revenue for the twelve months to September 2026, up 14.7%. Its operating margin rose to 31.3%, but sales growth has slowed for three straight quarters. Management cut its 2026 ad revenue forecast to $2.7 billion from $3.0 billion, and its free cash flow forecast to $12.0 billion from $12.5 billion. Netflix will give 2027 guidance in January 2027.

Ives backs SpaceX over Netflix: $225 target on $14.6B AI-fuelled quarter

Wedbush analyst Dan Ives prefers SpaceX over Netflix after both reported earnings this week. He rates SpaceX Outperform with a $225 price target, about 52% above Tuesday's close, and Netflix In Line with a $75 target. SpaceX shares surged after third-quarter revenue rose 161% year over year to $14.6 billion, above the roughly $13 billion Wall Street expected. Adjusted earnings were $0.35 per share against expectations of $0.16. Its Super Intelligence business brought in $7.6 billion, up 830%, and is now its largest unit. Capital spending is the main worry, at $19.6 billion for the quarter, including $16.4 billion for AI infrastructure. Netflix shares fell after fourth-quarter earnings guidance came in below consensus. It also cut its full-year advertising revenue forecast to $2.7 billion from $3 billion.

Netflix falls 6% on weak $13.4B Q4 outlook, hitting 623 ETFs and leveraged funds

Netflix shares fell about 6% in premarket trading on Wednesday after the streaming company gave a weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter revenue outlook. The stock is down nearly 27% this year. Netflix reported third-quarter revenue of $12.9 billion, roughly in line with expectations. It projected fourth-quarter revenue of $13.4 billion, below analysts' estimates, with year-over-year growth slowing to 11.5% from 17.6%. Its advertising business is running about $300 million below expectations. The drop matters for the 623 ETFs that hold the stock. The T-Rex 2X Long NFLX Daily Target ETF, Roundhill NFLX WeeklyPay ETF, and Direxion Daily NFLX Bull 2X ETF are the most concentrated, and leveraged products could suffer losses much larger than the stock's move.

Netflix cuts 1,000 jobs and ousts content chiefs as it bets on Peter Rice to refocus strategy

Netflix has laid off about 1,000 employees, including content chief Bela Bejaria and film head Dan Lin, in a plan to refocus its content under new hire Peter Rice. The shake-up follows Netflix's pursuit of Warner Bros. last year, which unsettled Wall Street. Investors now value the company more like a traditional media business than a tech giant such as Google or Apple. Several bets have not paid off as expected or are still in development. The advertising tier and live events look likely to stay; podcasts, gaming, creator deals, and Netflix House experiences are less certain. On the latest earnings call, co-chief executive officers Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters said the strategy was not changing, though changes are being made at the margins.
