Requirements
  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • At least two years of experience, preferably in a long-term care facility, is required.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices is required.
  • The candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The candidate must be able to read technical procedures and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • The candidate must hold a current, unencumbered, active Registered Nurse license in the state.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • The candidate must maintain all required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • The candidate must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • The candidate must be able to make independent decisions, solve practical problems, and exercise leadership and supervisory ability.
  • The candidate must possess knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.
  • The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to residents' age-related needs.
  • The candidate must be able to move intermittently, work independently, and work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • The candidate must be able to lift, push, pull, move, or carry at least 25 pounds and assist with resident evacuation during emergencies.
  • The candidate must meet the facility's general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the assigned tour of duty.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing daily nursing-service functions and maintaining compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Develop, maintain, and update written policies and procedures for the nursing service department.
  • Ensure that nursing-service personnel comply with the Nursing Service Procedures Manual and their job descriptions.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations concerning operation of the nursing service department.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain continuity of resident care.
  • Participate in the facility's nursing-service quality assurance program and government surveys.
  • Review and update resident discharge plans and assist with the nursing-services portion of discharge planning.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete accident and incident reports as required.
  • Attend facility committee meetings, prepare reports for committees, and implement committee recommendations.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants for each shift.
  • Develop work assignments, delegate authority and accountability to Charge Nurses, and supervise nursing-service personnel.
  • Make daily rounds, monitor absenteeism, enforce policies, review personnel complaints, and report findings or problem areas to the Director.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing requirements, and make recommendations concerning dismissals and transfers.
  • Provide direct nursing care, make rounds with physicians, monitor residents, and communicate changes in resident condition to physicians and next of kin.
  • Review nurses' notes, medication cards, treatment schedules, and care plans for accuracy and compliance.
  • Start intravenous lines, collect sputum, urine, and other specimens, and take vital signs as necessary.
  • Monitor medication administration, treatments, restraints, infection-control practices, safety procedures, and sanitation.
  • Participate in developing and implementing resident assessments, written plans of care, and Minimum Data Set processes.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training and clinical supervision for nurse aide trainees.
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs and ensure adequate medication, medical-supply, and equipment stock levels.
  • Report suspected fraud, hazardous conditions, occupational exposures, privacy violations, and information-system access violations.
  • Maintain liaison with residents, families, medical staff, support departments, visitors, and government agencies to plan for resident needs.
  • Attend continuing-education programs and maintain current professional licensure.

  • Knowledge and experience with PCC are preferred.
  • Experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.

PACS Group beats Q1 estimates with $0.50 EPS and $1.42B revenue despite 12.5% year-to-date stock decline

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group appoints Carey Hendrickson as chief financial officer

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Hancock guided PACS through its successful initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in April 2024 and served as interim CFO from September 2025. He will be succeeded by Carey P. PACS Group appoints Optum CEO Dr Patrick Conway, former CMS deputy administrator, to board

PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer. During his tenure, he led the transformation of Medicare payment policy, increasing payments in alternative payment models from virtually zero to over 30% of total Medicare payments.
