Requirements
  • A Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia degree from an accredited California Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist program is required.
  • Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center setting is required.
  • Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist approved and accepted by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing is required.
  • A valid Basic Life Support card from the American Heart Association is required.
  • A valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support card from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and standard office equipment is required.
  • Ability to create and deliver training plans for consistency across the regions is required.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, vendors, or other members of the business community is required.
  • Ability to draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment, and make decisions under pressure is required.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures is required.
  • Ability to make timely and accurate decisions based on available information, including when information is vague or limited, is required.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment without compromising quality is required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction while contributing to the success of assigned regions is required.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and administer anesthetic agents to patients to desensitize them for medical or surgical procedures.
  • Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations to identify physiological and psychological factors affecting anesthetic selection and the anesthetic management plan.
  • Monitor patients in the operating room to maintain homeostasis and prevent unnecessary injuries.
  • Record anesthetic information on the anesthesia chart to support patient care, teaching, study, and the medical-legal record.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and welcoming environment for patients.
  • Keep the direct supervisor informed of work progress, timetables, and issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the ophthalmology industry across multiple surgery center locations.
  • Experience training staff.
  • Experience with regulatory and accreditation surveys, including AAAHC accreditation.
