Requirements
- A degree in process, mining, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
- A professional engineering designation (such as OIQ, PEO, or EGBC), a U.S. Professional Engineer license, or eligibility to obtain a license in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Relevant training or experience in study/project management and contract management.
- More than 10 years of experience with EPC, EPCM, or design-build companies in multidisciplinary environments on major projects, focused on mining and mineral processing.
- At least 3 years of experience managing PEA, PFS, and FS studies.
- At least 3 years of experience interacting with clients, including clarifying requirements and scope of work.
- Understanding of mining disclosure regulations such as NI 43-101, JORC, SEC S-K 1300, or equivalent.
- Mentoring and team management skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project; Primavera P6 is preferred.
- Understanding of contractual, procurement, and commercial matters.
- Ability to write and structure technical reports.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and drawings.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office including Outlook, and planning tools; Primavera is an asset and MS Project is the minimum.
- Experience supervising construction sites and managing projects through construction and commissioning phases.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada or the United States, depending on the job location.
Responsibilities
- Manage studies according to workload and assignment complexity.
- Oversee studies to meet schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Provide support as needed to deliver quality work within planned schedules and budgets.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Ensure work performed by employees, contractors, or subcontractors meets expectations, and follow up when it does not.
- Provide guidance or support on commercial, contractual, and procurement matters.
- Provide project updates, including cash-flow analyses and forecasts.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 is preferred.
