  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, or a relevant field.
  • 4-8+ years of experience in body electrical and/or mechanical areas and relevant automotive assignments, covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in vehicles structures, employing a 1st Principles approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the underbody protection skid plates for the HVB for all new products. You will cover from clean sheet of paper through virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch for all Scout all-electric pick-up and rugged SUVs.
  • Integrate the underbody protection shied in the vehicle structure as a significant part of the load path.
  • Ensure a close collaboration with the energy system team and other important stakeholders (e.g. vehicle safety, body in white team, …).
  • Working together with suppliers and engineering service providers and controlling their participation in the project.
  • Be a part of a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Develop DVP plans for virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
  • Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
  • Contribute to the design of production facilities for body systems of the Scout trucks & SUVs.
