Requirements
  • At least 6 years of hands-on data engineering experience in production environments, with interest in moving from a builder role into strategy and client consulting.
  • At least 2 years of agency or consulting experience working directly with clients.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience building and operating production-grade pipelines and data models.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, dbt or similar transformation tooling, data modeling, and tag management.
  • Experience with Customer Data Platforms such as Segment or mParticle, event collection systems, orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster, and production data pipelines.
  • Experience integrating CRM, marketing automation, and messaging platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Iterable, or Braze with warehouse and Customer Data Platform data.
  • Hands-on experience with Reverse ETL tools such as Census or Hightouch, web analytics, attribution, and marketing measurement.
  • Daily use of coding assistants such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Codex, and comfort building with AI tools, agents, and automations.
  • Ability to present technical architecture and decisions directly to client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Design data models, schemas, and identity strategies that connect raw data to business and marketing outcomes.
  • Build and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines and transformations into cloud warehouses using modern patterns and tooling.
  • Integrate warehouses, Customer Data Platforms, CRM and marketing systems, messaging platforms, analytics tools, and media data sources.
  • Configure audience, scoring, and lifecycle signal flows from warehouses into operational tools using Reverse ETL and activation patterns.
  • Build attribution structures, UTM frameworks, and campaign tracking to provide a trusted view of performance.
  • Shape and prepare data for AI-powered use cases such as agents, automations, analytics assistants, and retrieval-augmented generation workflows.
  • Test, monitor, document, and improve data systems for reliability, scalability, and ease of client operation, while addressing technical debt.
  • Work directly with client stakeholders to present architecture, align on requirements, and communicate technical decisions.
  • Contribute reusable patterns and frameworks that strengthen the data engineering practice.
  • Travel, sometimes frequently, for work.
