Requirements
  • Demonstrated analytical and observational ability.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems resourcefully.
  • Rigor and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French.
  • Ability to understand technical documentation in English occasionally.
  • One of the following water-treatment or industrial-process training credentials: AEC, DEP, DEC, BTS, or BTS-A; alternatively, another relevant training program related to industrial wastewater treatment.
  • Good command of Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and control wastewater-treatment processes.
  • Inspect plant structures and complete the plant-operation verification checklist.
  • Monitor and inspect plant installations and equipment to detect failures and ensure normal system operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on treatment equipment to ensure the facilities operate according to required standards.
  • Supervise receipt of chemical reagents and track their consumption.
  • Collect samples, conduct laboratory analyses, interpret results, and adjust the treatment process as needed to ensure treated water meets standardized quality requirements.
  • Manage and distribute team tasks as needed.
  • Lead weekly team meetings.
  • Inspect, inventory, and dispose of residual hazardous materials at surrounding sites.
  • Complete and maintain the plant activity log.
  • Write reports.
  • Operate and clean wastewater pre-treatment and sludge-dewatering equipment, and maintain the facility and premises.
  • Provide on-call coverage from Monday through Sunday, prepare the monthly schedule, and intervene as needed when equipment anomalies occur.
  • Participate in and complete wastewater-treatment improvement projects and other projects.
