Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in nursing is required for Nurse Manager I, with Bachelor’s degree completion strongly encouraged within 2 years of hire for staff with an Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required for Nurse Manager II.
  • Current South Carolina registered nurse license.
  • Three years of experience in a clinical specialty.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for taking patient vitals, administering injections, and conducting physical exams.
  • Ability to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.
  • Visual acuity and color perception to read medical charts, documents, and monitors.
  • Auditory ability to communicate with patients and colleagues and perceive alarms or patient instructions.
  • Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of patient care, including long shifts and stressful situations.
  • Mobility to navigate clinical environments.
  • Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit.
  • Lead and manage unit operations to ensure high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for adult patients with complex medical and telemetry needs.
  • Provide leadership for nursing staff and coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a positive patient and staff experience.
  • Direct staff development and fiscal management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Foster collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure alignment with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient-centered care principles.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing for Nurse Manager I.
  • One year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Certification in a clinical specialty.
  • Bachelor’s degree completion within 2 years of hire is strongly encouraged for staff with an Associate Degree in Nursing.
