About the job

Requirements
  • At least 2 years of software engineering, forward deployed, or mission operations experience, with a record of shipping impactful work.
  • Strong technical fluency, including the ability to read, write, and debug code sufficiently to build prototypes.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise, industrial, government, defense, or security-critical products.
  • Strong coding skills, problem-solving ability, and understanding of computer science fundamentals.
  • Mastery of core development, infrastructure, and DevOps tools, including Git and Linux.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional problem solving, influence technical teams, and drive projects from inception to delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments through strong prioritization and structured thinking while balancing long-term vision with immediate needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complexity for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong data instincts, including comfort analyzing data, forming hypotheses, and making data-informed decisions.
  • Hands-on prototyping and artificial-intelligence-assisted coding skills.
  • Must be based in the United States; U.S. citizenship is preferred or permanent residency is accepted.
Responsibilities
  • Spend approximately 25% of the time onsite with customers across the United States.
  • Build a ground-truth understanding of customer operations by shadowing operators, analysts, and frontline teams to understand workflows, constraints, and integration requirements.
  • Rapidly prototype tools and integrations in the field to validate ideas, solve urgent problems, and prove feasibility before handing work off to engineering.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex operational or systems issues across varied and sometimes degraded environments.
  • Translate field insights into clear technical requirements and integration specifications for the engineering team.
  • Lead technical integration work, including application programming interfaces, data pipelines, hardware and software interfaces, and security- or compliance-sensitive deployment setups.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure features, interfaces, and infrastructure align with real-world operational needs.
  • Represent customer technical realities internally so feasibility, reliability, and operational constraints are understood.
  • Decompose ambiguous real-world problems into well-scoped technical workstreams.
  • Enable smooth deployment, data flow, connectivity, and operational reliability for customers in mission-critical contexts.
  • Inform product and engineering teams with data, field observations, and frontline feedback, and advocate for changes that reflect customer needs.
  • Support pre-sales by traveling onsite with prospects to demonstrate and prove the product's value before a deal closes.
  • Contribute to the foundation, process, and culture needed to scale the forward deployed engineering function.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working onsite with customers in field or operational environments.
  • Experience deploying software to industrial or government settings, including understanding constraints such as safety, latency, offline operations, or compliance.
  • Familiarity with mobile or web applications, cloud infrastructure, Internet of Things or industrial systems, or real-time data pipelines.
  • Experience navigating sensitive or mission-critical customer environments.
  • Expertise in mining and industrial safety regulations.

About the company

Realm Alliance provides an AI-driven platform that integrates software and hardware to improve threat awareness and response for industrial operations. The system works by combining data from existing security hardware with external open-source intelligence (OSINT) to create a real-time, shared map for control room operators. Unlike traditional security tools, this platform offers specialized features like VIP route planning and local incident reporting within a single interface to manage high-stakes environments. The company's goal is to protect human lives and industrial assets by providing security personnel with the information needed to respond to threats immediately.
