Hilb Group acquires Florida commercial insurance agency to expand Southeast operations.

Hilb Group acquires Florida commercial insurance agency to expand Southeast operations. July 2, 2026 Hilb Group has expanded its footprint in the Southeast with the acquisition of a Florida-based commercial property and casualty insurance agency, continuing the company's acquisition-driven growth strategy in the insurance brokerage market. The transaction became effective July 1, 2026. Financial terms of the acquisition and the identity of the acquired agency were not disclosed. The acquisition strengthens Hilb Group's commercial property and casualty operations in Florida, a key market within the Southeast, as the Richmond, Virginia-based insurance brokerage continues to build regional scale through strategic acquisitions. The company said the addition enhances its growing property and casualty business while expanding its presence in one of the nation's largest commercial insurance markets. Hilb Group has relied on acquisitions as a central component of its long-term growth strategy, combining locally established agencies with the operational resources, market access, and advisory capabilities of its national platform. The company works to preserve local client relationships while providing acquired businesses with expanded carrier access, technology, and back-office support to drive organic growth. Backed by global investment firm The Carlyle Group, Hilb Group has completed more than 200 acquisitions and now operates from more than 125 offices across 32 states. The company provides property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, and risk management advisory services to businesses and organizations nationwide. The latest transaction continues a period of active consolidation across the insurance brokerage industry, where larger firms have increasingly acquired regional and specialty agencies to expand geographic coverage, deepen industry expertise, and strengthen client service capabilities. Florida remains an attractive market for commercial insurance providers due to its large business base and complex property insurance environment. Hilb Group has consistently expanded its national platform through targeted acquisitions aimed at increasing market density and enhancing specialized capabilities. The company has earned recognition as one of the fastest-growing insurance brokerages in the United States, including rankings by Business Insurance, Insurance Journal, and the Inc. 5000. With the addition of the Florida commercial property and casualty agency, Hilb Group further reinforces its Southeast operations while advancing its strategy of building a larger national brokerage platform through a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic growth.
