Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Tiger Finance's $45 million June 8, 2026 credit line funds operations and growth.
  • Cloud Paint Plush Blush reached Sephora on August 23, 2026, extending shelf presence.
  • Colin Walsh hired Nicole Solórzano as CMO in March 2026, sharpening marketing execution.

What critics are saying

  • Glossier will close nine of twelve stores by 2028, shrinking discovery and conversion.
  • Walsh laid off about one-third of staff in February 2026, slowing innovation.
  • If Sephora momentum fades, Glossier's debt-funded reset burns cash and forces a sale.

What makes Glossier unique

  • Glossier still owns a cult community built from Into The Gloss and social-first storytelling.
  • Its hero products, especially Boy Brow and You, remain recognizable across Sephora and DTC.
  • Flagships in New York, Los Angeles, and London preserve brand theater and customer feedback loops.

WHOOP names Kyle Leahy Chief Commercial Officer to lead global expansion.

WHOOP names Kyle Leahy Chief Commercial Officer to lead global expansion. Published. August 21, 2026 WHOOP has appointed former Glossier Chief Executive Officer Kyle Leahy as Chief Commercial Officer. She will oversee the wearable health company's global wholesale and retail operations, partnerships, enterprise business, and healthcare go-to-market strategy as WHOOP expands beyond direct-to-consumer sales. Leahy most recently led Glossier's move from an online-focused beauty brand into an omnichannel business, including its retail launch through Sephora, and brought the company to profitability. She previously spent nearly a decade at Cole Haan, where she managed its $1 billion North American business across e-commerce, retail, and wholesale. Leahy also serves on the board of L.L.Bean. Her appointment follows several years of growth for WHOOP. The company recently surpassed three million members across 56 countries, while its international membership has grown more than elevenfold since January 2023. WHOOP said its wholesale business grew more than 150% year over year in 2025, marking the third consecutive year at that rate. "Kyle has a proven track record of leading strong brands through rapid growth," said WHOOP Founder and Chief Executive Officer Will Ahmed. Leahy said her priorities include expanding distribution and partnerships and accelerating profitable growth. Her responsibilities will also cover WHOOP's healthcare business as the company expands a platform that includes an FDA-cleared electrocardiogram feature, blood pressure insights, and blood biomarker testing.
