SHEIN expands collaboration with EU project SPEAC in the area of compliance training.

SHEIN expands collaboration with EU project SPEAC in the area of compliance training. 21 Sep, 2026, 18:23 GMT Share article. * The upcoming compliance training will be jointly conducted by SPEAC and SHEIN and will focus on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) * Additional trainings planned for the rest of 2026 will cover eight additional key areas under the annual cooperation plan for training. DUBLIN, September 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Over the years, SHEIN has built a fruitful collaboration with the SPEAC project, an EU-funded initiative, to continue the series of jointly conducted compliance trainings for sellers on the SHEIN marketplace on key regulatory requirements of the European Union (EU). In 2026, SPEAC and SHEIN plan to organize nine training events on key topics such as the digital product passport (DPP) as well as prohibited substances in textiles, apparel, jewelry and chemical products. The first online training, taking place on September 21, is the third compliance training jointly conducted by SPEAC and SHEIN and focuses on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The two previous trainings took place in 2025 and covered the EU General Product Safety Regulation for consumer goods as well as compliance rules and industry standards for selling electronic products in the EU. The training on PPWR compliance will be led by Dr. Liu Kaiming, a leading expert from SPEAC, and will cover the regulatory background, key obligations, ways to comply with the regulations, and practical implementation guidance on the PPWR, which entered into force on August 12, 2026. The training is intended to help sellers operating on the SHEIN marketplace in the EU better understand the regulation and packaging waste requirements, including recyclability, traceability, labeling and the reduction of packaging waste. Through this initiative, SHEIN marketplace sellers can better understand the specific European requirements for product safety and consumer protection and translate regulatory obligations into practical compliance measures. These seller-focused initiatives complement SHEIN's own compliance obligations and investments as an EU online marketplace under applicable regulations, including the General Product Safety Regulation and the Digital Services Act. "SHEIN's collaboration with SPEAC underscores the company's commitment to promoting compliance awareness among its marketplace sellers," said Julien Faivre, Senior Product Compliance Director at SHEIN EMEA. "The training series complements SHEIN's ongoing efforts to provide marketplace sellers with access to information and training on the regulatory requirements applicable in the markets in which they operate." In May 2026, SHEIN launched a product safety and quality compliance training program for marketplace sellers, organized and conducted in cooperation with leading independent testing, inspection and certification organizations (TIC), including Bureau Veritas, Cotecna, Eurofins, Intertek, SGS, Technická inšpekcia and TÜV SÜD. The series covers current regulatory developments, product safety requirements, testing standards and industry best practices to help sellers navigate the constantly evolving compliance regulations in global markets. Recordings of sessions already held are available for later viewing in SHEIN's "Seller Education Hub" - an online portal that provides marketplace sellers with centralized access to compliance guides, reference materials and training courses designed to support their selling activities on SHEIN. The hub includes market- and category-specific guides on product safety requirements, prohibited and restricted products, quality standards, intellectual property protection, order fulfillment and compliance with operational regulations during onboarding, product listing and daily business operations. This is complemented by thousands of online compliance courses offered in various multimedia formats such as presentations, short videos, livestreams and interactive learning modules, paired with course assessments designed to reinforce practical knowledge and operational readiness. SHEIN will continue to work with external organizations and technical experts to strengthen seller training and help sellers build compliance capabilities while serving customers in international markets.
