About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in electronics development, with proven technical leadership and strong design knowledge in power electronics, motor drives, battery management, analogue electronics, high-speed design, digital electronics, and sensing technologies.
  • Experience with embedded microcontroller-based platforms, including 8-bit, 16-bit, and ARM Cortex microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on experience in high-speed circuit design.
  • Proficiency using simulation tools for design calculations, tolerance analysis, and documentation.
  • Experience with standard electronics laboratory and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, AC/DC power sources, and power meters.
  • Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout software such as Mentor Graphics.
  • Proven experience leading electronics development across multiple product development cycles from concept through production.
  • Direct experience with DFM, DFX, and DFMEA methodologies.
  • Knowledge of home appliance safety requirements and regulatory certification at PCBA and product levels.
  • Expertise in EMC troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to independently lead problem-solving, balance technical trade-offs, and deliver high-quality outcomes within challenging programme timelines.
  • Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
  • Communication and stakeholder management skills to influence technical decisions and engage with engineering, manufacturing, supplier, and leadership stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of Electronics Engineers, driving the development and delivery of integrated electronics solutions across self-developed and JDM modules in line with programme milestones and business priorities.
  • Lead design reviews, technical risk assessments, and investigations; ensure sound engineering decisions are made early and complex technical issues are resolved effectively.
  • Own and guide the development of power electronics, analogue/digital, and microcontroller-based electronic circuits for new products, including circuit design, analysis, review, troubleshooting, verification, and validation.
  • Set and uphold engineering standards so design solutions meet product specifications and functional requirements, including performance, reliability, DFM, cost, and international regulatory standards such as IEC, UL, and EMC standards.
  • Influence and align Mechanical, Compliance, Software, Manufacturing, Test, and JDM partners so product and system requirements are understood, prioritised, and delivered through production.
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of engineering deliverables, including design schematics, PCB layouts, tolerance analyses, design notes, FMEAs, failure analysis reports, and technical review documents.
  • Provide technical leadership to suppliers and contract manufacturers, driving production readiness, engineering discipline, and compliance with company requirements.
  • Coach junior engineers by providing technical guidance, design direction, and constructive challenge to strengthen engineering capability across the team.
  • Represent the electronics function on-site as required, including co-location at JDM or supplier sites to support technical alignment, issue resolution, and delivery execution.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leading JDM partners, especially within the home appliance industry, is strongly preferred.
