About the job
- Previous experience in events or fine dining, serving, or bartending is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required.
- Flexible availability focused on evenings and weekends is required.
- Availability on key holidays, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Mother’s Day, and during Stampede, as well as other designated blackout dates, is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision is required.
- A warm, caring, and personable demeanor is required.
- Ability to work independently is required.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments is required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; the hotel cannot assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
- Set up rooms and function areas in the hotel.
- Explain the banquet menu to guests.
- Assist guests with special dietary needs or preferences and provide suitable assistance when recommending beverages.
- Clear and reset tables and ensure service areas are clean and tidy.
- Set up, serve, and tear down bars.
- Provide engaging, luxury service to guests.
- Ensure guests leave with a positive dining experience.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, meet health and safety standards, follow procedures, and use the knowledge and tools needed to work safely.
- Follow food safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
- Follow hotel sustainability and food waste reduction and diversion policies, procedures, and programs.
- Follow all department and hotel policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Event Operations or their designate.
