  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of hospital financial or clinical applications, including Emergency Services applications.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Systems, or a related field, or five years of healthcare financial or clinical experience.
  • Have two years of healthcare financial, clinical systems, or training experience when holding a bachelor's degree.
  • Have excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Work closely with Emergency Services Clinical Specialist and ED System Analyst to coordinate cross-functional support of the Emergency Department Information System.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Applications Coordinator or Manager in coordinating activities and resources for hospital financial or clinical applications.
  • Assist with the design, development, build, testing, implementation, training, upgrades, support, and overall system management of hospital financial or clinical applications.
  • Act as a project manager for implementation of new systems.
  • Maintain an issues work list and conduct regular follow-up with interested parties.
  • Provide primary support and maintenance for core financial or clinical systems.
  • Practice safety techniques in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and immediately report equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or injuries and accidents.
  • Serve as the Emergency Department and Information Technology departmental liaison for designing, building, implementing, upgrading, and supporting Emergency Department Information Systems.
  • Act as the departmental project manager for implementation of new Emergency Department Information Systems in collaboration with Emergency Department management and Information Technology.
  • Assist the Emergency Services Director with special-project management, including preparing detailed project plans and regular progress reports.
  • Serve as the liaison for Visibility functionality and reporting as an active member of the Patient Flow Team.
  • Work with the emergency-department physician group to identify and resolve Emergency Department Information System issues and provide direct support as needed.
  • Research technologies and Information Technology solutions that address service-line gaps and enhance Emergency Services operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with department users, staff, and other hospital departments; act as the primary point of contact during projects and liaison with interfaced departments such as Radiology and Laboratory Services.
  • Work with the Emergency Department Operations Analyst to support Lucidoc functions for the organization.
  • Develop and provide guidance regarding reports from the Emergency Department Information System for Emergency Department needs and other departments as assigned by Emergency Department management.
  • Work with the Emergency Department System Analyst to manage development of documentation templates with review by the Emergency Services Clinical Specialist.
Desired Qualifications
  • Have five or more years of healthcare financial or clinical systems experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • Have experience in project management.
  • Have knowledge of McKesson applications.
