Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with nursing and medical supplies used in long-term care or healthcare is required.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management tools, an online purchasing system, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and email, and other business systems is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage medical and nursing supplies inventory by organizing and distributing supplies within central supply and other designated areas.
  • Develop and place weekly orders.
  • Monitor and report on supply utilization to nursing and administration.
  • Partner with nursing center leadership to ensure compliance with Genesis Standard Operating Procedures by purchasing to the PPD budget, adhering to spend against budget goals, minimizing emergency orders, and managing product utilization.
  • Establish and maintain reorder point information for routinely used products.
  • Restock unit-based locations and/or patient rooms from central supply to ensure nursing customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper receipt of medical and nursing supply shipments by confirming that items on the driver's manifest and purchase order match and are in acceptable condition.
  • Verify that invoice items are priced correctly.
