  • 8+ years of broad and in-depth experience producing news video journalism for digital or broadcast news
  • A track record as a manager of high-impact reporters or teams and a deep interest in supporting individuals’ career goals
  • Experience overseeing or reporting open-source investigative stories using the OSINT toolkit including geolocation, chronolocation, satellite imagery etc
  • Demonstrated deep command of sourcing from a variety of video sources, including wire services, UGC, archival footage, motion graphics, and original footage
  • Exceptional news and story judgement
Responsibilities
  • Drive innovative and exclusive news video coverage in a range of visual formats
  • Oversee and manage a team that produces originally reported visual news stories, including open-source and traditional video and field reporters, video editors, motion graphics animators and field crews
  • Guide the team to identify the most fruitful open-source investigative targets around newsy storylines, as well as good opportunities for field deployments and reporter-on-camera videos
  • Oversee script writing and visual approaches for effective news, field reporter-on-camera, and open-source investigative stories across a range of visual formats
  • Provide insightful and timely feedback on script drafts, rough cuts and text stories
  • Coordinate and collaborate with reporters and editors from around the newsroom
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world
  • You will report to video leadership in New York.

  • Track record managing reporters and video journalists in the field during deployments
  • Expert knowledge of current events with advanced level experience covering breaking news stories in the US and internationally
  • Familiar with digital storytelling formats
  • Flexibility to work extended hours
