Responsibilities
Conduct and report on assessment findings in language, literacy, and communication for learners with autism in a school context to support direct intervention planning and exam access.
Conduct school team-based assessments for curriculum and lesson planning.
Plan and conduct one-to-one and small-group direct interventions focused on language, communication, and literacy goals.
Make referrals to external and alternative services when necessary.
Participate in a collaborative consultation model with key stakeholders.
Participate in curriculum and program development projects.
For Senior SLTs, develop program-wide or school-wide intervention programs related to communication and language.
Provide training, consultation, and instructions to educators on evidence-informed approaches, tools, and strategies supporting students' language, literacy, and functional communication, including appropriate use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies to enhance spontaneous communication and social interaction.
Deliver training to parents and teachers on language, social communication, and interaction.
For Senior SLTs, provide supervision and mentorship to junior SLTs.
For Senior SLTs, provide routine reporting on agreed Key Goals for Speech and Language Therapy service provision.
For Senior SLTs, influence the development of programs and policies to promote best practice in communication, language, and literacy development.

Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore to offer the national curriculum together with life readiness skills. It caters to students on the autism spectrum with related conditions, aged 7 to 18 years, who are cognitively able to access national curriculum but require additional support such as smaller class sizes, special accommodations and teaching staff trained in autism.
The team at Autism Intervention, Training & Consultancy (AITC) provides training and consultancy services for professionals and caregivers, as well as direct intervention services for individuals on the autism spectrum.
As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will work with students with autism on a range of skills including social communication, language and literacy.
