Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years’ experience working with students in an educational setting or related experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis
  • Experience working directly with students/student services.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Academic advising for Pre-Nursing, Pre-Pharmacy, and Pre-Nutrition Exercise and Physiology.
  • Student recruitment and retention activities.
  • Provide workshops, teaching modules, and program assessment.
  • Represent the Health Professions Student Center communicating with various Nursing and Pharmacy programs to increase matriculation rates.
  • Advise student clubs.
  • Advise students on career paths.
  • Some evenings and weekends are required.
