Requirements
  • Strong field skills and a solid work history as an experienced pipefitter or journeyman.
  • Experience supporting mechanical service, facilities maintenance, and operations in commercial, industrial, critical infrastructure, or high-security environments.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, hydronic systems, piping systems, testing, adjusting and balancing, building controls, pumps, compressors, and related mechanical equipment.
  • No prior union membership.
  • Willingness to join the local union as a condition of employment.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to the Kansas City, Missouri area.
  • Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States without requiring future employment visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings, isometrics, and mechanical schematics to guide installation, service, and maintenance work.
  • Select, assemble, install, service, and maintain piping systems and related materials according to specifications.
  • Cut and connect pipe using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, brazing, and threading.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, controls, and related mechanical systems.
  • Support HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, hydronic, and mechanical system maintenance in operational facilities.
  • Assist with testing, adjusting, and balancing activities, controls coordination, system verification, and functional performance checks.
  • Test piping systems for leaks by pressurizing lines and monitoring gauges.
  • Perform work in sensitive, mission-critical, and high-security environments while following site-specific safety, security, and operational requirements.
  • Support preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to maintain reliable facility operations.
