About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, a technology discipline, or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • At least 8 years of B2B SaaS or enterprise software product management experience is required; life sciences, healthcare, or a related regulated vertical is ideal.
  • Working knowledge of incentive compensation concepts, including plan design components, crediting, quota or goal-setting, and eligibility or roster management, or the ability to ramp quickly in a complex domain.
  • Practical understanding of how AI agents are built, including tool use, retrieval, orchestration, and evaluation harnesses, and judgment about where agents are appropriate versus when human involvement is required in regulated, audit-sensitive workflows.
  • Ability to write detailed, engineering-consumable requirements and user stories in an agile environment and defend design decisions to architects and engineers.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams spanning engineering, design, data science, professional services, and client success.
  • Experience engaging directly with client IT and operations teams to elicit and validate detailed requirements.
  • Familiarity with system integration patterns, including APIs, extract, transform, and load processes, and data contracts relevant to enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data, including reasoning through calculation logic, edge cases, and data quality issues that affect incentive compensation outcomes.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to reason through architecture diagrams, data flows, and detailed logic walkthroughs.
  • Ability to own ambiguous problems end to end.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Ability to prioritize based on customer feedback, usability studies, and measurable key performance indicators.
  • Ability to work effectively across global, cross-office teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the requirements and delivery roadmap for one or more incentive compensation capability areas, such as plan design, sales crediting, eligibility and roster management, data preparation and reconciliation, goal-setting, or field inquiry and support.
  • Translate high-level business and client requirements into detailed, engineering-ready requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with AI and machine learning and data engineering teams to scope agent-enabled features, defining the job to be done, tool and data access needs, evaluation criteria, and audit and traceability requirements.
  • Conduct discovery with client incentive compensation and commercial operations stakeholders to identify pain points, validate requirements, and prioritize backlog items.
  • Conduct requirements review sessions with engineering, design, and client success, and manage and track requirement changes through delivery.
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies, clarify requirements, resolve ambiguity, and sign off on acceptance criteria.
  • Work with architects and senior engineers to understand relevant platform components, data models, and integration points, and assess how changes affect incentive compensation calculations, reporting, and compliance.
  • Support integration requirements with relevant upstream and downstream systems, such as customer relationship management systems, Veeva, alignment and roster feeds, sales data and prescription feeds, human resources systems, and master data management systems.
  • Understand core incentive compensation data foundations, including total, new, and next-best prescription data, claims, specialty pharmacy, sample data, and alignment files, to write clear requirements and evaluate downstream impact.
  • Monitor agent feature performance in production, including accuracy, cycle-time reduction, deflection rate, and full-time-equivalent hours saved, and feed learnings into the roadmap.
  • Support new client implementations and migrations by ensuring capability design and documentation translate cleanly for professional services teams.
  • Communicate design decisions, trade-offs, and risks to peers, engineering leadership, and client stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and, where relevant, mentor junior product managers or analysts.
  • Represent the capability area in internal roadmap reviews and, as needed, client or industry-facing conversations.

Desired Qualifications

  • An MBA or advanced quantitative degree is a plus.
  • Exposure to life sciences commercial data foundations, including total, new, and next-best prescription data, claims, specialty pharmacy, sample data, and alignment files.
  • Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or a related regulated vertical.

About the Company

ZS

Global management consulting for sales optimization

ZS Associates helps organizations optimize their sales and marketing operations through data-driven analytics. The company uses mathematical models and rigorous analysis—originating from Kellogg professors in the 1980s—to size and structure sales teams, design territories, forecast markets, manage data, and design incentive compensation. Its services are delivered as consulting engagements that translate complex analytics into practical business decisions, such as how many salespeople a company needs, how to assign territories, and how to align incentives to drive performance. ZS differentiates itself with a deep, methodical focus on analytics, built from decades of experience and applied across industries beyond its pharmaceutical roots. The company’s goal is to help clients improve performance and return on investment by turning data into actionable sales and marketing solutions.
