Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ job-related experience.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct work requiring independent judgment, evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Manage clients and bridge or highway projects for local municipalities, PennDOT, and other clients.
  • Manage services with revenue up to $1M.
  • Create and track client proposals, including writing scopes, technical and price proposals, statements of interest, amendments, budgets, and schedules, and identifying potential issues.
  • Prepare workload forecasting reports.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, survey, regulatory, and permitting requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of codes and standards applicable to project design.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate project contract agreements, and sign agreements within allotted parameters.
  • Identify new markets, develop leads and opportunities, perform business-development activities, and pursue new geographies.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and sub-consultants.
  • Direct, mentor, and guide team members and staff; provide annual performance evaluations and career development plans.
  • Manage project risk in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing annual business goals and multi-year strategic business plans for the Transportation Group.
  • Manage assigned personnel, including clients and projects, communications, budgets, schedules, quality control, and client relationships.
Desired Qualifications
  • PennDOT experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or other professional licensure in the field of expertise.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, and Open Bridge Designer.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team, with strong leadership, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other external sources.
  • Proficiency in public speaking, creating presentations, and delegation.
