Requirements
  • Three to five years of relevant engineering work experience is required for level II.
  • Six to nine years of relevant engineering work experience is required for the senior level.
  • A two-year Associate degree in engineering or a related field of study, or equivalent years of job experience, is required.
  • Computer-aided design skills are required.
  • General fluency in SAP is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required for the senior level.
  • Experience with Lean concepts is required for level II, and strong Lean experience is required for the senior level.
  • Advanced experience in plant layout is required for the senior level.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement moderate-complexity training initiatives to support manufacturing.
  • Identify, specify, and justify moderate-complexity capital expenditures.
  • Investigate, purchase, and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Recognize, recommend, and validate design and process changes to improve manufacturability, and implement changes with product design engineering.
  • Identify and implement improvements to material utilization, department layout, and machinery efficiency.
  • Analyze summarized data and make recommendations to influence management decisions about budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning.
  • Lead and support safety, 5S, and Lean initiatives, including completion of internal Lean Leader certification.
  • Provide mentoring, training, and indirect supervision of team members, and potentially supervise direct reports.
  • Manage moderately complex team projects involving individuals from manufacturing, sales, finance, marketing, and product engineering.
  • Support production and manufacturing to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Support the production and manufacturing quality management system and its policies.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for powder coating operations by providing technical leadership, daily support, troubleshooting, and training.
  • Lead process, equipment, and performance optimization efforts, including specifying and justifying equipment, implementing process improvements, establishing key performance indicators, and driving efficiency, quality, cost, and sustainability gains.
  • Partner cross-functionally to integrate coating requirements into product and manufacturing designs while leading safety, environmental compliance, Lean initiatives, and continuous improvement through standard operating procedures and project management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A four-year Bachelor degree in engineering is preferred for level II.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred for level II.
