This is a didactic Faculty position on the Voorhees, New Jersey Campus and will be a 12 month contract.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Participate in Physician Assistant Program-related activities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A principal Faculty member in the Physician Assistant Program actively: develops, reviews and revises as necessary the mission statement for the program, selects applicants for admission to the Physician Assistant program,
Selects applicants for admission to the Physician Assistant program,
Provides student instruction,
Evaluates student performance,
Provides academic counseling of students and assures the availability of remedial instruction,
Designs, implements, coordinates, and evaluates curriculum and evaluates the program.
Interacts with students, co-workers, visitors, and other individuals consistent with the values of Thomas Jefferson University.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Participate in College and University level service, as appropriate.
• Clinical practice while employed in this position is optional
• Research/Scholarship is highly encouraged.
• Attendance at all university academic events, such as Convocation and
Commencement, as well as departmental and program faculty meetings
Job Description
Qualifications:
3 years professional experience
Master’s/Doctoral degree in Physician Assistant Studies/Advanced Practice Nursing/Pharmacology/Medicine
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
NCCPA certification required for PAs
Current state licensure or license eligible as a Physician Assistant/Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Pharmacist in PA or NJ.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Clinical experience in primary care, surgery, orthopedics, internal/primary care medicine or emergency medicine.
Candidate should have teaching experience at the college/university level
Candidate must have sound organizational skills, be a strong communicator, a team player, and have some proficiency with computers and education-related technology
Aptitude to engage in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Work environment is academic office and laboratory along with instructional classrooms and laboratories
Assignments may involve business travel to clinical sites
Periodic business travel between New Jersey campus and Philadelphia campus may be required.

Salary Range
$100,000 to $128,000
The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
