A Construction OSHA 30 certification obtained within the last five years or the ability to renew it; a valid OSHA 30 card is required while working on Marand projects, and recertification is required every five years.
Proficiency in project reporting software, Microsoft Office, and blueprint reading.
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
A valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites; travel may be up to 75%.
Ability to supervise and lead a team, organize and schedule the multitasking work of a multi-member team, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Proven knowledge in commercial building, construction, and related sectors, with experience overseeing minor interior renovations, minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing replacement work, finish work such as paint, flooring, millwork, and acoustic ceiling tile, and ATM projects involving basic pad and electrical installations in the $50,000-$500,000 valuation range.
A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or an associate's degree from a vocational school is a plus.
Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including climbing stairs, and to wear required personal protective equipment and safety gear on job sites.
Responsibilities
Enforce OSHA requirements and Marand's safety plans and policies, and advocate for job-site safety.
Supervise work at project job sites and communicate project plans to subcontractors.
Complete punch list items within customer timelines and project budget, using Procore for punch list management.
Write project documentation, including look-ahead reports, safety documentation, timesheets, and expense reports.
Ensure successful, on-time project completion and delivery, and provide accurate progress and look-ahead reports to the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
Direct subcontractors to submit change orders to the Project Manager for approval.
Ensure work adheres to project plans and the customer's contract specifications and requirements.
Track and report work progress using Procore.
Ensure worker health and safety by enforcing company, state, and federal guidelines.
Lead weekly safety toolbox talks and conduct weekly safety inspections in Procore.
Supervise construction work and workers, ensuring the quality of work and materials.
Inspect workers' work against project plans, specifications, and submittals.
Coordinate with government inspectors regarding site licensing and safety requirements.
Supervise subcontractors and ensure they meet scheduling deadlines.
Maintain overall job-site cleanliness to Marand's standards.

Safety: A Superintendent Level 1 is required, at a minimum, to possess a valid OSHA 30 card at all times while working on Marand projects. Level 1 Superintendents will be registered by Marand, upon employment, for OSHA 30 certification.
Problem-Solving: individual should have and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
Communication: individual should possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills not only with team members, but also with the Project Management and the Customer.
Computer Skills: individual needs to be computer literate and should have basic computer knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook software.
The successful Construction Project Superintendent should have the minimum of a High School Diploma. A Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year College or University or an Associate’s Degree from a Vocational School is a plus.
Travel is a requirement of this job. Travel can be up to 75%.

Physical Demands:
The individual typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Generally, the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing.
Frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
Please note that climbing stairs is a physical requirement. Some offices contain an elevator, but one must be able to use stairs for fire drills and emergencies.
Work Environment
The job is performed indoors in a variety of settings, including the office, interior building job sites, and job sites outside. While performing the duties of this job on a construction job site, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles (before the use of air scrubbers); outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee may potentially run the risk of being exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses and vest) and safety gear (including appropriate clothing, shoes, and gloves) are required on job sites.
