Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; an advanced degree is desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and current appropriate state licensure as a Registered Nurse are required.
  • Six to eight years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • At least 12 months of clinical nursing experience is required.
  • At least six months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience is required.
  • The employee must be available full time and provide on-call coverage when necessary.
  • The employee must complete Clinical Manager training modules and ongoing developmental programs within the specified timeline.
  • The employee must complete the Ishihara Color Blindness test as a condition of employment.
  • The role requires demonstrated leadership competencies in communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, employee motivation, performance management, and decision making.
  • The role requires management skills to supervise dialysis personnel and ensure maximum quality care for patients.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality patient care and cost-effective clinical operations in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Manage tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives, including coordination of activities, costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, development plans, counseling, performance feedback, evaluations, and disciplinary documentation for direct reports and clinical staff.
  • Hire, interview, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate facility personnel, and participate in recruitment and hiring decisions.
  • Drive facility quality standards through ESRD regulatory compliance, Quality Assessment and Improvement activities, adverse-event response, action thresholds, audits, and Continuous Quality Improvement process-improvement teams.
  • Oversee the facility's Home Therapies Program when applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and implement clinical quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the integrity of medical, administrative, operational, and facility records.
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge, including assessments, care plans, schedules, education, treatment adherence, access care, hospitalizations, and transplantation coordination.
  • Organize interdisciplinary patient-care meetings and resolve patient problems.
  • Monitor each patient's clinical status, hospitalizations, missed treatments, catheter use, and other significant changes in care status.
  • Develop action plans for unexcused and missed treatments in collaboration with the Director.
  • Coordinate disease-management activities, patient eligibility validation, access-management workups, dialysis services, patient education, hospitalizations, kidney transplantation, and communication with the multidisciplinary renal team.
  • Implement staffing and medical-supply models and make recommendations for facility resources.
  • Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with medical staff bylaws, and maintain relationships and communication with Directors and physicians.
  • Participate in Governing Body activities and schedule and coordinate Continuous Quality Improvement meetings with physicians.
  • Maintain the integrity and safety of the facility water system and knowledge of facility equipment and technology.
  • Maintain and update FMS manuals, complete standing-order reviews and ICD coding, respond to correspondence, and direct information gathering for billing and collections.
  • Manage medication, laboratory, inventory, supply, and equipment utilization to meet cost goals and complete supply-use analysis.
  • Review and approve facility payroll and profit-and-loss statements with the Director.
  • Participate in Network reporting, state and federal surveys, and the Administrative Clinical Review.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree is desirable.
  • Three or more years of supervisory or project/program management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in medical-surgical or intensive care/coronary care nursing is preferred.
