Requirements
  • Baccalaureate plus four/ five (Master's) degree from a university or business school with a major in Finance or Accounting
Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating producing and presenting the accounting analysis for Committee on Organizational Review or COMEX and Audit Committee presentations (ad hoc and quarterly close presentations)
  • Assist in investigating and solving IFRS/local Gaap/S2 accounting questions and issues through thorough fact finding, research on technical aspects and applying existing SCOR accounting guidance
  • Support the drafting and implementation of appropriate finance policies and procedures for the production of externally reported information
  • Contribute to the monitoring of IFRS and local accounting standards developments, analysing their impacts for SCOR
  • Support the preparation, and participate in conducting IFRS trainings to ensure that the entire finance team globally are adequately trained and maintain core IFRS knowledge
  • Supporting the preparation of the semi‑annual report through consistency checks and review
  • Reviewing external disclosures to provide a second line of review and ensure statutory compliance of financial publications
  • Preparing Group Executive Committee (COMEX) and Group Audit Committee presentations on large complex accounting transactions and external reporting, as well as contributing to the governance processes over the Group wide accounts
  • Reviewing complex transactions, in line with IFRS and local accounting standards, reviewing the business documentation and drafting the corresponding accounting memos, in collaboration with business units, local teams, etc
  • Monitoring IFRS 17 and local accounting standards developments , analysing their impacts and coordinating IFRS or other financial lobbying activities
  • Preparing and conducting IFRS trainings for the finance community
  • Developing and documenting SCOR’s accounting interpretations and positions

Pine Walk appoints new senior leaders. The Fidelis Partnership announced that Peter Williams has joined Pine Walk as Chief Underwriting Officer, alongside the appointment of Gary McInally as CEO of Pine Walk Capital Limited and Managing Director of Pine Walk. A spokesperson said, "The appointments further strengthen Pine Walk's leadership team and support its continued growth with Pine Walk now supporting 18 MGAs and $1.6 billion of written premium. "Peter Williams starts this week having joined Pine Walk from Scor, with extensive experience in specialty insurance underwriting and leadership. As Chief Underwriting Officer, he will have responsibility for underwriting oversight across the Pine Walk platform, supporting its continued growth and driving cross-selling with the wider TFP Group. "Gary McInally has been appointed CEO of Pine Walk Capital Limited and Managing Director of Pine Walk. In his new role, he will be responsible for the operations and governance of the platform. Gary previously served as Chief Project Actuary at TFP, where he played a key role in the development of both TFP and Pine Walk. Laurent Rousseau appointed Head of International for Marsh Re. Marsh, a global professional services firm, has announced the appointment of Laurent Rousseau as Head of International, Marsh Re, effective immediately. In this expanded role, based in London, Rousseau will lead Marsh Re's Asia, Pacific, Latin America and Caribbean regions in addition to Europe and IMEA. He will also retain global leadership of Capital and Advisory, and work alongside Marsh Re's regional leaders to deliver the firm's capabilities to clients in this complex risk environment. Rousseau will continue to report to Dean Klisura, President and CEO, Marsh Re, who commented: "Laurent is an exceptional leader with deep reinsurance expertise, a global perspective, and a strong understanding of the evolving needs of its clients. "His leadership across our international regions will further strengthen how we deliver the full breadth of Marsh's reinsurance expertise and solutions to clients." Rousseau brings over 25 years of investment banking and reinsurance experience to his new position, having initially joined the company following a 13-year tenure at SCOR. During his time at SCOR, he held leadership roles of increasing responsibility, eventually becoming Chief Executive Officer of the French reinsurer. The executive started his career as an insurance equity research associate at Credit Suisse First Boston before moving to JP Morgan's Mergers & Acquisitions Financial Institutions Group in London.
