Effective password security needs to work for everyone - from employees accessing everyday applications to administrators managing critical infrastructure. Bitwarden gives teams a centralized platform to generate strong, unique passwords, store credentials securely, and share access through controlled collections. Bitwarden Teams provides secure credential sharing, centralized administration, event logs, and directory integration. Bitwarden Enterprise adds capabilities such as single sign-on integration, organization-wide security policies, granular access controls, and self-hosting flexibility. These tools help businesses support collaboration while maintaining oversight of access. Advanced security built on transparency. Bitwarden's security architecture combines end-to-end encryption and a zero-knowledge approach: vault data is encrypted on the user's device before reaching the server, and Bitwarden cannot read the encrypted contents. Its protections include AES-256 encryption and support for key derivation methods such as Argon2id. Open-source code and regular independent security audits provide additional transparency into how the platform protects sensitive information. Security also requires ongoing attention. Bitwarden's vault health reports help identify weak, reused, and exposed passwords, giving organizations practical information to improve credential hygiene. Bitwarden launches Privileged Controls to counter AI-enhanced credential attacks

Bitwarden has introduced Privileged Controls, a new privileged access management feature now available in private preview for select customers. The solution addresses deployment friction by offering setup in minutes, compared to traditional PAM systems that can take months to implement. Built on Bitwarden Password Manager, Privileged Controls enables security and IT teams to manage access to privileged and business-critical credentials through credential leasing, advanced access rules, automated password rotation, and detailed audit logs. The announcement comes as AI-enhanced attacks increasingly target credentials at scale. Bitwarden research revealed that whilst 84% of surveyed customers rated securing privileged account access as extremely or very important, 55% reported having no PAM solution in place. Among those without PAM, 40% cited cost as a barrier and 20% cited implementation resource requirements. Key features include temporary credential access requests, automated password rotation for Microsoft Entra ID and custom scripts for Windows and Linux servers, and compliance-ready audit logs that integrate with SIEM solutions.
