About the job
- A bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience.
- An active Secret security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience building, implementing, and maintaining knowledge-sharing platforms and information-sharing processes.
- Experience supporting the Department of State or other U.S. government agencies.
- Strong written, oral, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize information and present complex issues clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Understanding of how knowledge-management systems work alongside communications and learning capabilities in a large data-driven organization.
- Experience with knowledge-management systems that provide accessible, user-friendly models for writing reports and briefers and for collaboration.
- Deep understanding of knowledge-management systems and processes in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working with teams across multiple sectors and building effective relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to influence and manage large projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the full range of Google products.
- Experience with knowledge-management-appropriate software and solutions.
- Help establish and maintain knowledge-management practices.
- Work closely with the Department of State to develop systems within existing platforms.
- Support engagement to strengthen the collection and collation of important materials and information for effective bureau and programming operations.
- Work with assigned offices to identify bureau-level learning priorities.
- Provide bureau-level knowledge-management leadership and guidance, including developing an action plan and driving its implementation.
- Coordinate bureau or other knowledge-management working groups and steering committees.
- Promote collaboration and cross-learning through events, workshops, training, and other formats.
- Coordinate and consolidate information for the Department of State or others for reports, briefers, and presentations, delivering it in an organized and timely manner to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and lead learning events and after-action reviews of bureau-wide activities and engagements.
- Support learning and information-sharing needs of bureau, office, or other coordination groups by providing robust and timely country- and region-specific information for decision-makers, as directed by the bureau or offices.
- Support other initiatives and priorities requiring knowledge management and related subject-matter expertise.
- Propose and leverage needed information technology and software to support knowledge-management initiatives.
- Develop knowledge-management resources, guidance, and tools for Department of State staff.
- Provide training or facilitation on specific knowledge-management topics, practices, or systems and platforms as needed.
- Perform other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
